CHAMBER MUSIC AT ITS BESTEvery four years, Chamber Music Australia hand-picks the brightest young classical musicians to take part in the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. This international celebration of chamber music has launched the careers of many professional ensembles, inspired Australian musicians and composers and built a committed audience across Australia.

Presenting such a contest requires artistic rigour and substantial resources. Prizes, international travel, accommodation costs and juror honorariums represent the major expenditure outlays for Chamber Music Australia. Bringing the chamber music world to Australia delivers many cultural and economic benefits and this year’s 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition is expanding its commitment to regional audiences.

We invite you to play a key role at the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition (11 to 19 July 2015).

Lend your support to help our innovative Schools Link program. Lend your support to promote the Australian New Works Award for the future of Australian classical music. Lend your support to help us fly musicians and jurors to Australia. Lend your support to an international event that positions Melbourne as a centre of chamber music excellence. Lend your support to help young artists achieve a place on the world stage.

Have a hand in the future of chamber music in Australia.

MORE THAN A COMPETITIONBuilding on its first 25 years, Chamber Music Australia is growing in stature and scope. This year in conjunction with the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, we are proud to present...

SCHOOLS LINKInspiring young musicians to follow a career in chamber music is important to Chamber Music Australia. At the coming 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, Chamber Music Australia will ‘link’ each of the 16 competition ensembles with a Victorian school with an established classical music program to deliver educational and cultural advancement opportunities.

AUSTRALIAN NEW WORKS AWARDChamber Music Australia has established an Award for Australian chamber music composition to expand its commitment to the future of chamber music. Working in partnership with Monash University, the Australian New Works Award will promote new repertoire as part of the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition.

CHAMBER MUSIC IN THE CITYChamber Music In The City provides free concerts in unexpected venues across Melbourne. Featuring established and emerging musicians, these live events welcome new audiences to the chamber music art-form.

CHAMBER MUSIC IN THE COUNTRYChamber Music Australia will present Chamber Music In the Country as part of the 7th Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. Prize winning ensembles will be invited to engage in tours of regional Victoria in the week following the Competition.
