Planes, Trains & Automobiles 2017 The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce
proudly presents Planes, Trains & Automobiles
2017! Join us at this family-friendly event for
demonstrations and displays featuring
helicopters, planes, automobiles, police safety,
trains, and more. Free flights will be available for
children (ages 8-17) courtesy of EAA Young
Eagles. There will also be opportunities for Cub
and Boy Scouts to earn their aviation merit badge
and/or their railroading badge. Opening
ceremonies are at 10:30am and trophies will be
awarded at 2:30pm, be sure to vote for your
favorite automobile & plane on display!

enthusiasts; Cub and Boy scouts; Girl Scouts;
families; and anyone looking to have a fun-filled

IT’S A PROMISE.
Chamber Members,
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate at the annual
Passing of the Gavel last Thursday! Quite literally, a group of past
chairs (including 2016 Chairman Brian West) passed the gavel to
Yvonne Fry. Yvonne is now officially our board chair for 2017, becoming
only the fourth woman to hold the position. During the ceremony
Yvonne shared her vision for the Chamber—B.O.L.D. Using this
acronym, she explained that we will continue to succeed by being Brave
and creating continued Opportunities, Leaders, and Dreamers.
There were also some very special awards given away during the
ceremony. Jason Jones was given the Chairman’s Award - this award is
given by the outgoing Chairman to a Chamber member who has had an
exceptional impact on the Chamber during their year as Chair. Chris
Sparkman and Jodi Stevens were recognized with an award
commemorating their work on Pig Jam and Stephen Rossiter was
honored with Rise Plant City’s inaugural Rising Star Award. Thank you
to all who helped make this evening of celebration a success, including
our sponsors, Chamber Trustees, Chamber Board of Directors, and our
dedicated volunteers.
Earlier this month, the Chamber held the monthly Ambassador meeting
and annual awards ceremony. Congratulations to Alice Bullard,
Ambassador of the Year and to Team One, Ambassador Team of the
Year! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to the Chamber,
we couldn’t do it with you!
Please join us on February 25th for Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
2017. This family-friendly event is held at the Plant City Airport and
features displays and demonstrations of planes, helicopters, model
trains, automobiles, k-9s, and even computer flight simulators. Free
flights are available for children (ages 8-17), courtesy of EAA Young
Eagles. There will even be opportunities for Scouts to earn their Aviation
& Railroading Badges. Opening ceremonies are at 10:30am and
trophies will be presented at 2:30pm.

A New Start - Florida The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce
held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, January 10th for A New Start- Florida, located at 1514 S. Alexander Street, Suite 202, Plant City. They are an outpatient treatment center. Using medication assisted treatment, access to a 12-step recovery program, and behavioral therapy, they work closely with counselors to help in the recovery process. This results in the complete treatment of mind, body, and soul leading to restoration.
