    To

    The Chairman,

All India Council of Technical Education,

    Floor,

    Chanderlok Building,

    Janpath,

    New Delhi- 110001.

    Respected Sir,

Sub: Higher Education- B.Tech. Petrochemical Technology- Equivalence

    Certificate Reg.

Ref: 1) TGC-117 (Technical Graduate Course) Call letter from Indian Army.

    2) MHRD, Department of Higher Education, Order F.No.11/15/2011/AR (TS

    II), dated 06/12/2012.

    3) Centre for Academic Courses Anna University, Chennai Lr. No.

    2216/CAC/DD/2013, dated 16/04/2013.

    4) TGC-118 (Technical Graduate Course) Notification from Indian Army.

I enclose copies of the cited references for kind perusal and wish to state the

following for kind consideration and orders.

I have passed B.Tech. Petrochemical Technology during the year 2007-2011 at Anna

University Tiruchirappalli, copy of Degree Certificate is enclosed. I have applied for

Technical Graduate course (TGC) in the Indian Army under the notified branch Chemical

Engineering, vide TGC-117. Since Petrochemical Technology is equivalent to Chemical

Engineering branch and I attend GATE/SAIL/ONGC and Combined Engineering Services

exams under Chemical Engineering Category only. To substantiate my claim under Chemical

Engineering branch I have applied to the Centre for Academic Courses Anna University

Chennai for a Course Equivalence certificate and was given a reply in the reference third

  • cited stating that, Equivalence Certificate can be issued directly to Indian Army if requested

and there is no need to give any equivalence to the student.

During the certificate verification in TGC-117 interview on 14/05/2013, I was sent

back since the nomenclature of my awarded degree is B.Tech Petrochemical Technology.

In this regard I submit to state that a fresh notification for the Technical Graduate

entry into the Indian Army has also been issued vide TGC 118, for 2014 January entry.

Herein, also the notified branch is Chemical Engineering only. On an enquiry with the Army

Head Quarters, I am given to understand that I may obtain a Course Equivalency/ at par

certificate for entry in Central Government jobs from AICTE to support my claim under

Chemical Engineering branch during TGC-118 interview. I request early favourable orders.

I also submit to state that I have approached the Southern Regional Office of AICTE,

Chennai on 23/05/2013 and my request was returned to approach authorities at New Delhi

    and hence my present request.

    Thanking You.

    Encl: Yours faithfully,

    (Paul Richard Aswanth A)
