PRAISE THE L O R D !! For He is good and His mercy endures forever!

It’s been too long since I last wrote to you. You are probably asking “what’s been going on with the magazine?”

Well, that’s just it -- Not much. I am going to be forthright and share with you that just as I THOUGHT that things started looking bright for CHAIM magazine, more subscribers, bookstores carrying the magazine, advertisers seemed to show more interest….then….everything came to a screeching halt.

There are various reasons for our dreams to seem to fall apart. Money is generally the first. People get distracted, or maybe there are more hurdles than strength. I say again, Praise the LORD for He is good and His mercy endures forever. We must come to hold on to the LORD in ALL that we do. And keeping in all our activities and thoughts what the LORD told us to do – our assignment. Each of us has a unique assignment from the LORD and it is up to us to find that out and then to DO it. Concerning CHAIM magazine issues going out timely – there are things that I could have done better. There are always areas for us to grow. That is our life in God: being conformed into the image of His Dear Son – Jesus Christ. What have I learned? A LOT!

Don’t force my will and timing

Get all wisdom from the LORD first and foremost

Don’t give up

Be diligent in the little things

Don’t get offended/walk always in love Do you feel like your heart’s desire in a situation may never come to pass? Do you see only the hurdles and challenges? Remember to be a doer of of the Word of God, be of a good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart. I will share this with you:

“Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” -PSALM 37:4

I can’t tell you enough how wonderful it was growing up with an herb garden! My mom and I would spend hours in it weeding, planting, and learning about all the different herbs. We had a blast coming up with recipes for tinctures that could do just about anything. And one of my favorite things to do with the herbs was to cook with them. There is nothing like the aroma of fresh thyme, oregano, sweet marjoram, peppers, garlic, and lemon juice combined in a marinade for a beautiful piece of grilled chicken. It is the taste of perfection and makes me lick my lips just thinking about it...yummm! Years have passed and I don’t spend as much time with my mom in our herb garden. But from time to time I still have to make that amazing chicken. It always brings us back to sunny afternoons in our garden, where we began to learn about and use herbs. Since it's not always convenient to have fresh herbs around, I have put together several dried herb mixes that are pretty close to perfection. Enjoy our Pearl family recipes with the delicious taste of these herb mixes!

Cheers,

~ Shoshanna

At the Bulk Herb Store we provide our homemade concoctions, our experiences, and the tested wisdom of others. We want to do more than sell quality herbs. We want to teach you what we know and inspire you to learn and research beyond that. You can write to us here. Happy herbaling!

Thyme is a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant and has been used to break up mucus, fight colds, coughs, fevers, headaches and sore throats. Onion powder has been used to protect against infection, relax spasms, and reduce blood pressure, blood clotting, and blood sugar levels. Garlic power and value as a healing agent cannot be overstated. John Heinerman (Heinerman’s Encyclopedia of Healing Herbs & Spices) says, "The role of Garlic as an antiviral and anti-bacterial agent is unsurpassed. There are no…repeat, NO…modern antibiotic drugs in the entire arsenal of medical science that even come close to doing what Garlic can do." Lemon Peel has been used to aid digestion, helping ease colic, indigestion, upset stomach, and vomiting.

PRAYER:

"Thank you, Father, for showing me the way you

want me to live my marriage. I thank you that your way is the way that brings joy, blessing and

peace. Amen."

AFFIRMATION:

I am embracing all that God has designed for my

marriage.

I have always taught that Oneness is the first principle of marriage. However, I was wrong. Before God speaks about becoming "one flesh," He first introduces three basic principles for

marriage. How could I not see that before?

The FRUITFUL ANOINTING The first one, of course, is mandated in the very first words that God ever spoke into the

ears of man, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish (fill) the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion..." (Genesis 1:28).

Fruitfulness is the overriding blessing God has given to marriage. God is a God who loves fruitfulness and He looks for fruitfulness in each marriage. It is the first blessing that He gave to man, for these words were not only a mandate from God, but His blessing. Genesis 1:28 says, "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful..." This blessing is reiterated all through the Bible. Psalm 107:38 says, "He blesses them and they multiply greatly." The divine plan of "one flesh" marriage is to embrace the spirit of fruitfulness.

The HELPING WIFE The next thing we read about God's plan for marriage is in Genesis 2:18, "And the Lord God said, It is

not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helpmeet for him."

The Hebrew word for helpmeet is ezer and means "helper, to come to one's aid." Although the husband and wife work together in their powerful directive to take dominion on this earth for God, He specifically gave the ministry of helping to the wife. Is this insignificant? No, it is powerful. This is the first time ezer is used in the Bible, and yet it is the same word that is used to describe God, who is our "Help and my deliverer" (Psalms 40:17) The spirit of helping, in the same way God comes to our aid to help us, is also the backdrop of "one flesh" marriage. We should not expect to live our marriage according to the status quo of couples who choose their own way for marriage. We must embrace a higher way, a way that transcends the natural for it is God-planned. Embrace God's way and all that He has planned for you in your marriage.

Send in your testimony of God’s goodness to you. [email protected]

The CLEAVING HUSBAND We read in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his

mother, and shall cleave unto his wife." The word cleave in the Hebrew is dabaq and means "to cling or adhere to, abide, follow hard after, be joined together, to stick to." A husband is to be totally faithful to his wife. He is to be glued to his wife. He has no other rival than his wife.

It is also true that the wife is to cleave to her husband, but this characteristic is particularly pinned on the husband. God never intended a man and woman to become "one flesh" except in the confines of a faithful and covenantal marriage. It is not an independent act. Fruitfulness, faithfulness, and helpfulness are the basis of this godly institution.

The ONE FLESH ANOINTING

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." (Genesis 2:24).

With God's full understanding of faithfulness and fruitfulness we embrace the "one flesh" marriage. Yes, it also means that we are to be one in spirit, purpose, and vision. But, it is physical "one flesh." We are to embrace this wholly as it is the heat of the marriage relationship. Oops. I just made a typing error! meant to type, "the heart of the marriage," but I think we could also call it the "heat of the marriage." God reiterates this vision in the New Testament in Matthew 19:4-5 and again in 1 Corinthians 7:4-5,

"Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband

hath not power of his own body, but the consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not." Because God said, "they shall be one flesh," it should be a familiar part of each marriage. He did not say that they would be occasionally one flesh, but one flesh. I am sure that means consistently one flesh. However, because many couples have not embraced the foundational principles for "one flesh" that God established, they do not walk in the full anointing of "one flesh" that God intends. To wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with experience the fullness of God's plan, we have to embrace it all, not just what we think suits us.

Reuven Bulka writes, "Marriage is not simply living the same as before but

with someone else. Nor is it simply a change of lifestyle with added

benefits and duties. Marriage is, and should be lived, as a higher

dimension of existence. All that goes on prior to marriage ideally prepares

for marriage, but marriage itself is a fresh start in the way life was meant

to be."

We should not expect to live our marriage according to the status quo of couples who choose their own way for marriage.

We must embrace a higher way,

a way that transcends the natural

for it is God-planned.

Embrace God's way and all that He has planned for you in your marriage. ~ chaim

You are loved Prayer for our readers and partners is top priority at Chaim, Inc. Every day we pray for one another, for the magazine, our nation, for our world. Why? Because, God first loved us. People are important and valued in God’s eyes and we agree with II Peter 1:2 that “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our LORD.” We pray for your health and healing, for your finances and for your relationships, basing all our praying on the Word of God. Then we go to work. What a blessing it is for the staff of CHAIM, Inc. to (each day in focused prayer and intercession) lift up to God our readers and partners! You can see we don’t take prayer lightly. We understand the power God makes available to us through the prayer of His people for one another. James 5:16 “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Always praying for you! We agree with you in prayer according to the promises of God’s Word. We stand ready to serve you in taking your needs and the desires of your heart before the LORD. There is not an issue in your life the Word of God does not address and we are equipped to lead you to the Word and help you use it in authority over every issue. Prayer plays a major role at CHAIM and in our partnership with you. We are here for you wherever you are (whether geographically or personally) to pray the prayer of faith in agreement with God’s Word over everything that concerns you. Let us hear from you! We would love to hear how CHAIM has been a blessing in your life. Please contact us with prayer requests and testimonies of the goodness of God in your life.

PRAYER WORKS

Yet most people spend the majority of their prayer time feeling

that they really were unheard and probably won’t get the answer they truly wanted.

With this being said, how are we going to move out of

disappointment and frustration to effectiveness and power?

I will share with you the “punch-line” first and then we’ll go through some key points to help you navigate your way to the victory you’ve

been wanting.

THE SECRET TO PRAYER IS

A REVELATION OF WHAT WE ARE

IN CHRIST JESUS.

The call to prayer is the Father’s invitation to visit with Him. This is more than the consciousness of a great need that often drives us to prayer. It is the call of LOVE to come and Fellowship.

IT IS REALLY VISITING WITH THE FATHER. Few of us have realized the fact that the Father’s heart is hungry for the companionship of His children His heart hunger is the reason for man and the reason for redemption,

For God so loved the world

that He gave His only begotten Son

Prayer is born then of the sense of need, and the assurance that the need will be met. Unbelief cannot pray; it can only utter words.

You see above that the Word of God clearly says that when we ask God for wisdom; He gives it. No strings, no requirements; He just gives. Jesus told us in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Yet James 4:3 states: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. So what gives? Do we get it or not? How do we know if we ASK AMISS?

Here it is…that pivotal point to Answered prayers…ready?

R E L A T I O N S H I P

with God the Father through

Jesus Christ His Son.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

When God came into the Garden of Eden in the cool of the morning and asked, Adam where are you? It wasn’t because Adam was off exploring and not at his usual meeting place. It was that the relationship that God had with man (Adam the first) had been severed by sin. Jesus paid the ultimate price to restore and redeem us back to fellowship with the only True God. Because of Jesus Christ’s perfect sacrifice you and I can once again talk to God face to face. PRAYER. We can take from our communication with God and share with others. The answered prayer is in the relationship with God the Father through Jesus, The WORD.

~chaim

words thrown about into the atmosphere hoping for them to land somewhere near someone who can help. Prayer is a deliberate and intentional communication to get answers then in turn to share those answers with other people; that those people might have liberty, joy, plenty – LIFE. The first thing we must realize is that answers, or wisdom, only come from GOD – the only wise God. We can find out what God has said on any matter by spending time with Him through His Word – the Bible. We need God’s wisdom. God makes His wisom available to us but we must first WANT IT…feel a need for it…

Yes, REQUIRE IT AS AN

ESSENTIAL IN OUR LIFE.

How are we going to get this wisdom from God? It is really simple. When I tell you, you are possibly going to say, ‘yeah, I knew that’ or ‘there has to be more to it than that’. James 1:5 reads: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. There’s an extremely important element in the the asking God for wisdom that is the pivotal point in answered prayer.

The ART and SCIENCE of Communication is what each of us are learning and can experience to improve our daily life.

ART: Skill, dexterity, or the

power of performing certain actions, acquired by experience, study or observation

SCIENCE: Knowledge, or

certain knowledge; the comprehension or understanding of truth or facts by the mind

COMMUNICATION: The

act of imparting, conferring, or delivering, from one to another; imparted; a trope by which a speaker or writer takes his hearer or speaker as a partner in his sentiments, and says we, instead of I or you.

Therefore, prayer is not unspoken

Restoration Cleaning I'd explain it like this, to really restore something, you have to take it all apart, clean each component and reassemble it all. An example of this is a box fan. Unplug it first, then, by taking the protective panels and fan blade off, washing them in the bath tub with dish soap and water, reassembling it, and it will be restored to clean. You get the idea. Here are a list of some other things in your home that may need a little restoration attention..... Blender: unscrew the bottom, clean the blades, and gasket, reassemble. Coffee grinder: run a hand full of rice in the coffee grinder to clean it out. Cool stove: pull the coil burners off. Soak the spill pans in a sink of water and dish washer soap overnight. All the tough spots wipe right off. Lift the top of the stove, like the hood on a car, and use an SOS pad on area under the burners. Pull, or have someone strong, pull out fridge, washer, dryer or stove. Clean the outer surface of appliance. Vacuum any vented areas on the back of the appliance, and the area before putting it back. Couch: remove couch cushions, vacuum the base of the couch and cushions. Lamps and light fixtures: remove glass domes and wash them like a drinking glass and put back on. Computer Keyboard Take a picture of your keyboard then pop off the keys with a butter knife. After cleaning the keys and board, use the picture to put the keys back where they go.

Our God is a God of restoration and relationships! Recently, I was reunited with some old friends from High School. They found me on Facebook. We hadn't talked in decades. What a thrill it was to share and update each other on how our lives are now. As I was reflecting on the zeal of reuniting with some old favorite friends, I thought about people in the bible who had been reunited. How about Jacob, in Genesis 45:26, when he found out that his dear son, Joseph, was still alive! The scripture says “his heart fainted” and in another version, “he was stunned; he did not believe them.”

The next thing you know, the whole family was moving to Egypt. The Prodigal Father, (Luke 15:11-32) when news that his son, having come to his senses, is returning home.... The Party began!

I am so excited to be reunited with you the readers! I really enjoy sharing tips and techniques with all of you. Every time I find out something unique I can't wait to figure out a way to work it into the next issue of Chaim. I am looking forward to what the Lord has for us as we study His Word and continue to

blogpost: May 31, 2012

This month in my Inner Circle Program, we are focusing on the T-Tapp Walking workout, Step Away the Inches (which gets underway tomorrow)! Plus, we are now entering “summer” months, which means more outdoor activity for some of you. Let’s talk about how you can use those activities to your weight loss and rehabilitative advantage! I’m sure you’ve heard that walking is the best exercise of all. You may have even heard that you actually use more muscles when you walk versus when you run. Try it sometime! If you are walking quickly and correctly, you may feel the urge to jog a little. My theory is that that urge comes up because your legs are saying, “hey—give us a break here and jog rather than walk!” Walking is obviously one of the oldest forms of exercise. People have walked wherever they needed to go since the beginning of time. Recently, we've invented a lot of ways to avoid walking…escalators, elevators, buses, etc. Combine that with over-eating and it explains why more people are overweight than ever before! For today’s blog post, I actually have an assignment for you. In fact, I invite you to print this newsletter and fill in the blanks so you can get visual, auditory, written AND kinetic understanding of how to walk the T-Tapp way. Watch this video: Step Away the Inches with T-Tapp Now answer these questions! #1 Don’t walk like a what? #2 What does she mean by “body alignment"? #3 Don’t use your big what? #4 Where do you place your palms? Not only is this method of walking more efficient for burning fat, it also helps rehabilitate injuries. For me, since I like to hike with a 30+ pound pack, through narrow rocky trails, into the middle of nowhere, it also means protection against injury. How so? Simply because getting your body in correct alignment activates muscles correctly to stabilize joints. If I tried to take a crumbling trail with a load on my back walking with my toes turned out like a duck, and my knees rolled inward, I would be asking for a knee injury. Alright — it's your turn. Do you hike? Walk outdoors? Prefer in indoor walking workout like T-Tapp's SATI? Share with us what you learned by watching Teresa's video!
