3 ISDN BASIC ACCESS, LAYERS 133.1 Scope
This specification defines the user-network interface applicable to terminal equipment
to be connected to basic accesses of the TeliaSonera ISDN in Sweden. Reference is
made to ETSI standards. Only deviations from the standards are listed in thisdocument.

3.3 Layer 1 - Physical interface
Terminal equipment shall be conformant with ETS 300 012. The following
clarifications are applicable:
The physical interface connector is in accordance with ISO 8877.
REQ 01
3.3.1 Timer Value
(EN 300 012-1 Section 7.6): Timer T1 = 20 sec REQ 02
3.3.2 Power feeding
(EN 300 012 Chapter 10)
The NT supports power source 1, normal and restricted conditions according to
EN 300 012.
It should be possible to power feed, from the network (LT), three different
functions on a given BA. i.e:
- Regenerator (one)
- NT1-UNI (i.e. customer premises equipment)
Consideration shall also be taken to power loss on the subscriber line, e.g. the
copper wire.
The regenerator may consume up to 1 W DC and NT1 up to 1,3 W DC in active
state. The power feeding of the UNI shall be in accordance to EN 300 012, e.g
400 mW in restricted mode. The power loss on the subscriber line is not
included in above figures. The wire area on cables used in access network are
0,4 , 0,5 and 0,6 and 0,7 mm.
Line characteristics (information): The maximum loop resistance for the linebetween the network LT (U interface) and the NT1 (U interface) excluding the
NT1s resistance is 1200 ohm.
The output power feeding requirements from the LT will be 2.7 W DC (for the
regenerator/NT1) and in addition to that maximum power loss for different cable
types (see above).
REQ 03
3.3.3 Feeding voltage
(TS 102 080 Section 10.5.1)
The feeding voltage range from the network (LT) shall be 91-99 V DC.

3.3.4 Digital transmission
(TS 102 080 Annex A)
2B1Q digital transmission system on metallic loop shall be supported on BA
equipment connected to the network (LT).
REQ 05
3.3.5 Maintenance
(TS 102 080 Chapter 9, Annex A, appendix I and II)All mandatory functions in TS 102 080 Chapter 9 are supported in the network,
including CRC control.
In addition the following functions are supported in the network and shall be
supported by customer premises equipment:
1 NT 1 power status bit (see TS 102 080 A.8.3.2.4 and I-2)
2 DLL-only-actination-bit (see TS 102 080 A.8.3.2.7 and I-5)
3 S/T-interface-activity-indicator-bit (see TS 102 080 A.8.3.2.8 and I-6)
4 Embedded Operation Channel (EOC). The network supports addressing
up to 5 locations. (see TS 102 080 A.8.3.3 and appendix II )
REQ 06
Note:
Two Swedish Standards concerning Customer Premises Network, CPN, are partly
applicable to the customer cable network. These standards describe the requirements
on "Connection of CPNs to the public telecommunication network" and "Design of
physical communications lines and sockets in CPNs". These standards are:
- SVENSK STANDARD SS 63 63 49 [6]
- SVENSK STANDARD SS 63 63 50 [7]

3.4 Layer 2 - Data link protocol
Terminal equipment shall be conformant with ETS 300 125. TE
Point-to-point data procedures can be provided as an option instead of point-to-
multipoint procedures.
For more detailed information about layer 2, see LZBA 506 403/6B; "ISDN User -
Network Interface; Data Link Layer Specification".

3.5 Layer 3 - Signalling protocol
Layer 3 signalling deviations towards EN 300 403-1, Q.850 and EN 300 196-1 are
listed in chapter 4.5 (LZBA 506 403/4).
The following additional deviation applies to EN 300 403-1 for the Basic Access
REQ 08
3.5.1 Restart procedures
(EN 300 403-1 Section 5.5 item a)
.
The network is not aware of the configuration on a point-to-multipoint interface.
Therefore Restart procedures are not supported on a point-to-multipoint basic
access. Any RESTART messages on these interfaces will be ignored
REQ 09
3.5.2 Receiving a STATUS message
(EN 300 403-1 Section 5.8.11)
During the broadcast phase for point-to-multipoint configurations the call state used
by the network will be the "individual" call state and not the "global" call state.
Furthermore actions taken in the broadcast phase will be taken on behalf of the
individual processes. I.e. if during the broadcast phase the action specified is to
initiate call clearing with a RELEASE COMPLETE message, the network will act
as if a RELEASE message was received from that specific terminal.
