During the exercise, attendees role-play as members of a non-governmental organization (NGO) responding to a crisis in a fictional country. Participants are required to engage in negotiations with combatants, government officials, and civilians; respond to the needs of internally displaced persons; evaluate and assess the needs of communities impacted by conflict and disaster; work as a team; plan strategically and operationally; and advance the objectives of international humanitarian law and their NGO. In past programs, graduate students have participated from George Mason University, Kennesaw State University, Tulane University, Nova Southeastern University, Wayne State University and UNC/Greensboro. Students from all graduate fields are welcome to apply. The event will be held March 15-18, 2018 in Fellsmere, FL, USA.
