INTRODUCTION
In eighth grade, I have just learned how to factor polynomials. This is a step by step demonstration on what I have learned to do.
The Starting Equation:
First Factor Out The GCF
Now find the factors of the last number in the parentheses that work out to the middle number.
X Squared can only be x,x.
15 can be 15,1 and 5,3
To find out which one, we see that 15 is negative, so one factor must be positive and one negative. Five and three are the only ones that can equal -2x So it must be those.
Now that we have the factors, put them in parentheses. FOIL to make
sure it is right.
Now with that, we can solve the equation! And this is the final answer.
