George  Boulukos  is  an  Associate  Professor  of  English  at  Southern  Illinois  University,  Carbondale.  He  is  also  a  longstanding  member  of  the  faculty  senate  (currently  Chair  of  the  Senate  Budget  Committee),  and  Vice  President  of  the  SIUC  faculty  union.    

Art  Hochner  is  an  Associate  Professor  of  human  resource  management  in  the  Fox  School  of  Business  &  Management  at  Temple  University,  where  he  has  taught  since  1978.  He  is  also  President  and  Chief  Negotiator  of  the  Temple  Association  of  University  Professionals,  American  Federation  of  Teachers  local  4531.  TAUP  represents  1,350  full-­‐time  faculty,  librarians,  and  academic  professionals  in  eleven  of  Temple’s  schools  and  colleges.    Hochner  is  a  member  of  AFT’s  Higher  Education  Program  &  Policy  Council,  and  vice  president  at  large  of  the  AFT  Pennsylvania  Executive  Council.    

David  O’Brien  is  an  Associate  Professor  in  the  School  of  Art  and  Design  at  the  University  of  Illinois  at  Urbana-­‐Champaign.    He  has  served  as  the  Chair  of  the  Art  History  Program  and  on  the  Executive  Committees  of  the  School  and  the  College  of  Fine  and  Applied  Arts.    He  has  many  years  of  experience  on  the  University  Senate,  where  he  has  served  on  the  Library  Committee,  the  Committee  on  Academic  Freedom  and  Tenure,  and  the  Committee  on  Committees.    He  is  Vice  President  of  the  local  chapter  of  the  AAUP  and  on  the  Executive  Committee  of  the  Campus  Faculty  Association.    

Ernst  Benjamin received  his  PhD  in  political  science  from  the  University  of  Chicago.  He  served  as  AAUP  General  Secretary  (2006-­‐2008  and  1984-­‐1994)  and  as  Director  of  Research  (1995-­‐2001).    Benjamin  taught  at  Wayne  State  University  from  1965  to  1984  where  he  served  as  chief  negotiator  and  president  of  the  WSU-­‐AAUP  and  Chair  of  the  National  AAUP  Collective  Bargaining  Congress.  His  academic  responsibilities  at  WSU  included  teaching  public  sector  labor  relations  and  serving  as  director  of  the  union-­‐oriented  Weekend  College  and  Interim  Dean  of  Lifelong  Learning.  His  many  publications  on  higher  education  collective  bargaining  include  (with  Michael  Mauer)  Academic  Collective  Bargaining  (AAUP  &  MLA,  2006).
