Like mechanical powerwe can use the hydrosteamwind power to rotate the generator which is same to dynamo to produce electricity5

ImpoundmentThe most common type of hydroelectric power plant is an impoundment facility. An impoundment facility, typically a large hydropower system, uses a dam to store river water in a reservoir. Water released from the reservoir flows through a turbine, spinning it, which in turn activates a generator to produce electricity.
Pelton turbine, Francis turbineetc
Lets we zoom and see how this power station works8

Corporate objectives-Improving power quality and reliability-Minimizing pilferage, -reducing system losses, -improving the distribution network, -upgrading substations, -high collection efficiency , -improving customer service -etc.
Load Shape objectives -Primarily DSM is considered as a cost-effective alternative to supply-side options, it generally address one of the following specific load shape objectivesPeak Clipping: The reduction of utility load primarily during periods of peak demandValley-Filling : The improvement of system load factor by building load in off-peak periodsLoad Shifting: The reduction of utility loads during periods of peak demand, while at the same time building load in off-peak periods. Load shifting typically does not substantially alter total electricity sales.Conservation : The reduction of utility loads, more or less equally , during all or most hours of the dayLoad Building : The increase of utility loads, more or less equally , during all or most hours of the day Flexible Utility Load Shape : Refers to programs that set up utility options to alter customer energy consumption on an as needed basis, as in interruptible / curtailable agreementsNo-load Shape objectives
