At the completion of the programme, students will need to spend at least one year working as an apprentice in the industry to gain these National Certificates. Areas covered on this programme include: > Automotive administration > Air conditioning > Braking systems > Electrical systems > Engine repairs > Fuel and exhaust systems > Transmissions FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS Graduates can apply to enrol in one of a range of trades programmes offered at Whitireia or other tertiary institutions CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates will have the skills to seek employment as apprentices in a range of motor trades such as; automotive heavy engineering, automotive electrical engineering, automotive machining, small engine servicing, brake service engineering, motorcycle engineering and power boat servicing. QUALIFICATION Graduates gain the Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Advanced) and credits/papers towards the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering).
