Ar fore braf o Chwefror, yng ngolwg Bae Aberteifi, lawnsiwyd gwasanaeth Bws Bro Bach ym Mhenrodyn. Mae’r Bws Bro Bach yn gerbyd hygyrch i gadair olwyn fydd yn rhan o wasanaeth Ceir y Wlad. Cafodd chwe gyrrwr eu hyfforddi i safon MiDAS i yrru’r cerbydau.

Daeth Elin Jones, AC, ar ddydd Gwener y 3ydd o Chwefror i lawnsio’r gwasanaeth newydd. Torrodd y rhuban a dwedodd air neu ddau pwrpasol am Geir y Wlad i’r holl bobl ddaeth ynghyd. Cyflwynwyd tystysgrifau MiDAS i’r chwe gyrrwr gan Trish Hughes, Rheolwr Cyflwyno Gwasanaeth WRVS, a Dave Bazzone, Cadeirydd MRhCC Ceredigion.

Trefnwyd y digwyddiad gan Dîm Cludiant Cymunedol Cymdeithas Mudia-dau Gwirfoddol Ceredigion (CAVO), dan arweiniad Rod Bowen. Os oes gennych unrhyw broblemau teithio yng Ngheredigion ac angen help llaw i’w datrys, yna cysylltwch â Thîm Cludiant Cymunedol CAVO. On a glorious February morning, with the sun blazing down over Cardigan Bay, Bws Bro Bach was launched at Penrodyn Sheltered Housing. The Bws Bro Bach is a fully accessible small vehicle which will be used in the Country Cars service. Six drivers in Ceredigion have been trained to MiDAS standard to drive the vehicles.

Elin Jones, AM came on Friday, 3rd of February to Penrodyn to launch the new ser-vice. She cut the ribbon and gave a short, but appropriate speech which was well received by everyone who attended. Trish Hughes, WRVS Service Delivery Manager, and Dave Bazzone, Chairman of Ceredigion CTRE, presented the six Country Cars drivers with their MiDAS Certificates. Volunteer drivers: John E Davies, John Elfed Jones, Geraint Evans, Ken Whits, Rob Brierly, Dai Davies and John Penri Davies.

The launch was organised by Ceredigion Association of Voluntary Organisations’ Community Transport Team, led by Rod Bowen. If you have any transport prob-lems in Ceredigion, then contact the CAVO Community Transport Team and let us help you resolve your problem. Call 01570 423 232 and ask for Enid, Sioned or Rod; or e-mail [email protected] .

We are commencing two new projects very soonThe first is to offer a weekly shopping trip to the less mobile residents of Aberffrwd and Cwm Rheidol, who have no regular bus service. This will be an 8 month kick start project funded by Awards For All and, if successful, will continue with funding by Ceredigion County Council’s repayment of the con-cessionary fares. Our thanks to both Ceredigion County Council and Awards For All.

Our very exciting second project is to commence in the summer and is on a tourism theme. We are co-operating with the hoteliers and caravan park owners in the Devils Bridge (Pontarfynach) area to offer trips to the holidaymakers staying in Devils Bridge. These trips will be to interesting and beauti-ful local areas, often with a historical interest; such as the Hafod Estate, Nant y Moch, the Elan Valley and the mines of Cwmystwyth. We hope to support other local businesses by using their facilities for lunches and the purchase of fuel etc. These trips will be undertaken by local volunteer drivers with outstanding knowledge of the area and its history. We are talking to Ceredigion County Council to help fund this as a kick start project. We are really looking forward to this new venture!

The Aberystwyth Bws Bro has proved very popular with its passengers. This service, which transports residents from the Aberystwyth area who have mobility problems, has now developed its own social aspect. The passengers have formed new friendships and now travel together to go shopping and to visit social events and Church. They have formed a newly constituted Group with its own bank ac-count and intend to apply for a small grant to enable them to group hire our community minibus to visit places of interest and beauty and so widen their horizons! We are very pleased at this unexpect-ed result of providing additional home to home transport!

Lastly, we are at last moving into our new office. Permission has been given to create a new spa-cious office from a portion of the Board Room in Lisburne House, Pontrhydygroes. This should be in place by the end of March. Our thanks must go to Mrs. J. Jones and Pentir Pumlumon.

News from Ystwyth Community Transport Group

Firstly, we offer our congratulations to our oldest Group member, Reg Budd who has just attained his 70th year. Reg is a stalwart member and offers his absolute support to Ystwyth Transport in so many ways. He undertakes one of our school runs taking children from the Cwmystwyth area to both the Mynach Primary School and to catch the senior bus into Aberystwyth. Reg is the first to volunteer and to offer help in any way he can. He is our Minibus Equipment Manager and ensures that all our minibuses are kept fully equipped, he thought up the idea of having a detailed equipment list in each minibus, which outlines where everything is kept and this has been a great aid to new drivers. Reg also undertakes Midas Training and gives generously of his time and hospi-tality. His wife, Marjorie, even supplies lunch to the trainees! Our congratulations and thanks go to both of them. It would be difficult to manage a volunteer organisation without this type of help and support!

Here at Ystwyth Transport we are looking forward to what we hope will be an exciting 2012!

Rydym yn cychwyn dau brosiect newydd cyn hir. Yn gyntaf, byddwn yn cynnig gwasanaeth wythnosol i’r bobl sy’n llai abl yn Aberffrwd a Chw-mystwyth sydd heb wasanaeth bws ar hyn o bryd. Caiff y prosiect ei ariannu am yr 8 mis cyntaf gan Arian i Bawb, ac os yw’n llwyddiannus, bydd yr arian mae Cyngor Sir Ceredigion yn ad-dalu ar y tocynnau teithio yn talu am y gwasanaeth. Rhown ddiolch i Gyngor Sir Ceredigion ac Arian i Bawb am eu cefnogaeth.

Yn ystod yr Haf, byddwn yn cychwyn ail brosiect sy’n ymwneud a thwristiaeth. Rydym yn cy-dweithio gyda’r gwestai a’r meysydd carafaniau yn ardal Pontarfynach er mwyn cynnig tripiau i’r ymwelwyr. Bydd y teithiau yma i leoedd diddorol ac hardd, neu o ddiddordeb hanesyddol – Stad yr Hafod, Nant y Moch, Cwm Elan a mwyngloddiau Cwmystwyth. Byddai hyn yn gyfle i gefnogi busnesau lleol sy’n cynnig prydiau bwyd, lleoedd sy’n gwerthu ynni, ayyb. Bydd gyrwyr gwirfoddol sy’n adnabod yr ardal a’i hanes yn dda yn cynnal y teithiau yma. Rydym yn trafod ariannu’r prosiect gyda Chyngor Sir Ceredigion, ac yn edrych ymlaen yn fawr i gychwyn y fenter.

Mae Bws Bro Aberystwyth wedi bod yn boblogaidd iawn gyda’ r teithwyr. Mae’r gwasanaeth yn cario pobl ardal Aberystwyth sydd a phroblemau symudedd, ac mae’n fwy o glwb neu gymuned gymdeithasol na gwasanaeth bws. Mae’r teithwyr wedi gwneud ffrindiau newydd ac maent yn cyd-deithio i siopa, i weithgareddau cymdeithasol a’r Eglwys. Gwnaethant ffurfio Grŵp newydd cyfansoddiadol a byddant yn gwneud cais am grant bach er mwyn hurio’r bws mini i gael ym-weld â lleoedd hardd a diddordol o fewn yr ardal. Rydym yn falch o weld rhywbeth mor annis-gwyl yn datblygu o’r gwasanaeth cludiant drws i ddrws.

Byddwn yn symud cyn hir i’n swyddfa newydd. Cafwyd caniatad i greu swyddfa newydd eang yn Nhŵ Lisburn, Pontrhydygroes. Bydd y cyfan yn barod erbyn diwedd mis Mawrth, a hoffwn ddiolch Mrs J Jones a Phentir Pumlumon.

Newyddion Grŵp Trafnidiaeth Cymunedol Ystwyth

Mae Trafnidiaeth Ystwyth yn disgwyl ymlaen am flwyddyn gyffrous yn 2012!

Datblygodd y rhestr cyflenwad sy’n dangos lle mae pob dim yn cael ei gadw, ac mae’r rhestr o fudd mawr i yrwyr newydd. Reg yw’r hyfforddwr MiDAS, ac mae bob amser yn llawn croeso. Mae ef a’i wraig Marjorie hyd yn oed yn paratoi cinio i’r rhai mae’n hyfforddi. Estynwn ein diolch i’r ddau ohonynt, gan y byddai’n anodd trefnu mudiad gwirfoddol heb gymorth a chefnogaeth pobl tebyg.

Bydd Reg Budd, ein haelod hynaf, yn 70 oed eleni, llongyfrachiadau. Mae Reg yn aelod ffyddlon sy’n weithgar iawn yn y grŵp. Mae’n gyrru’r plant o ardal Cwmystwyth i Ysgol Gynradd Mynach a’r rhai hŵn i ddal y bws i Aberystwyth. Mae gyda’r cyntaf i wirfoddoli ac i gyn-nig help. Ef yw’r Rheolwr Offer y Bws Mini, ac mae’n sicrhau bod pob bws mini a’i gyflenwad llawn.

Enillodd Dilwyn Morgan, un o wirfoddowyr Dolen Teifi, dlws a thystysgrif Gyrrwr Gwirfoddol Cymunedol yn noson Wobrwyo Cymdeithas Cludiant Cymunedol Cymru 2011.

Er bod Dolen Teifi yn un o’r grwpiau trafnidiaeth cymunedol lleiaf yng Nghymru, dyma’r eilwaith mae ein gwirfoddolwyr wedi ennill cydnabyddiaeth am eu gwaith gwirfoddol. Roedd Oliver Jones yn ail yng nghystadleuaeth Gyrrwr MiDAS y Flwyddyn Cymru yn 2009.

Mae Trafnidiaeth Cymunedol Dolen Teifi, dan ofal Llandysul & Phont Tyweli Ymlaen Cyf, yn mynd o nerth i nerth ers cychwyn pedair blynedd yn ôl. Gellir priodoli’r llwyddiant yma i ymroddi-ad y gwirfoddolwyr sy’n rhan o’r mudiad. Rydym yn hollol ddib-ynnol ar wirfoddolwyr lleol, a bob amser yn chwilio am fwy o yrwyr gallwn hyfforddi i’r safon MiDAS. Rydym hefyd yn chwilio am wirfoddolwyr i fynd gyda’n gyrwyr ar deithiau i ac o Ganol-fan Ddydd Dyffryn Teifi, Castell Newydd Emlyn er mwyn helpu’r teithwyr i esgyn a disgyn o’r bws.

Er mwyn sicrhau parhad y gwasanaeth ‘Pryd ar Glud’ i bobl mwyaf bregus Ceredigion, mae gwir angen gwirfoddowyr arnom i ddosbarthu’r bwyd. Byddai’n eithriadol o anodd i’r clients aros yn eu cartrefi heb y gwasanaeth prydau twym ers y newid yn y meini prawf cymhwyster ar gyfer Pryd ar Glud i “argyfyngol neu sylweddo”.

Cysylltwch ag Elonwy James, Rheolwraig Gwasanaethau Arlwyo Cyngor Sir Ceredigion ar 01970 633 677 os oes gennych ychydig oriau i’w sbario bob mis.

At the 2011 Community Transport Association Cymru Awards, one of Dolen Teifi’s volunteers, Dilwyn Morgan, was presented with a trophy and a certificate as a Community Volunteer Driver.

Dolen Teifi is one of the smallest community transport groups in Wales, and this is the second occasion that a Dolen Teifi volun-teer has achieved recognition for their voluntary work. In 2009, Oliver Jones was runner up Welsh MiDAS Driver of the Year.

Dolen Teifi Community Transport run by Llandysul & Pont Tyweli Ymlaen Cyf has been going from strength to strength since its inception four years ago. Much of the success can be attributed to the dedication of the volunteers involved with the organisa-tion. We rely heavily on local volunteers, and are always looking for more drivers who we train to the MiDAS standard. We are also looking for volunteers to accompany drivers on journeys to and from the Teifi Valley Day Centre, New Castle Emlyn to assist passengers on and off the bus.

To ensure the continuation of the existing “Meals on Wheels” service to the most vulnerable residents of Ceredigion, we desperately require volunteers for the delivery of the meals. Since the change of the eligibility criteria for Meals on Wheels to “critical or substantial” it would be extremely difficult for the clients to remain in their own homes without this hot meals delivery service.

If you have a few hours to spare every month, please contact Elonwy James, Catering Services Manager for Ceredigion County Council on 01970 633677.

Ceredigion CTRE is a social enterprise that has been formed as an umbrella organisation for all the community transport schemes in Ceredigion. The group holds regular meetings and would welcome anyone who has an interest in community transport. Please contact CAVO for more details: 01570 424 528.

As of April 1st Shopmobility will be closed on Monday. They will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 - 4:30, closed for lunch from 12:30 - 1pm

Cyhoeddodd Llywodraeth Cymru yn ddiweddar y bydd Menter Tocynnau Teithio Rhatach Cludiant Cymunedol yn parhau dros dro tra eu bod yn gwerthuso’r canlyniadau. Roedd y cynllun i fod gorffen ar ddiwedd Mawrth 2012, ac mae CTA Cymru’n galw ar y Llywodraeth i gadarnhau na fydd y bobl dan anfantais ddifrifol yn colli mas pan fydd yn gorffen. Rydym yn galw hefyd i’r gwasanaethau sy’n cael eu gweithredu gan Grwpiau Cludiant Cymunedol i fod yn rhan o’r cynllun tocynnau teithio rhatach cenedlaethol. Rydym yn disgwyl canlynia-dau gwerthusiad LlC a’r casgliadau sy’n codi ohono.

Mae yna ddeiseb ar lein yn gofyn i Lywodraeth Cymru i gyflwyno MTTRhCC ar draws y wlad. Os ydych eisiau cefnogi’r fenter yna dilynwch y dolenni isod:

https://www.assemblywales.org/gethome/e-petitions/epetition-list-ofsignatories.htm?pet_id=667&showfrm=0https://www.assemblywales.org/gethome/e-petitions/sign-petition.htmBydd y ddeiseb yn cau am ganol dydd ar y 9ed o Fawrth 2012.

Os nag oes e-bost gennych, danfonwch lythyr cefnogi cyn y 9fed o Fawrth i : The Petitions Committee, National Assembly of Wales, Bae Caerdydd, Caerdydd, CF99 1NA.

Bydd CTA Cymru’n cydweithio gyda Swyddogion Cymdeithas Cydlynu Cludiant, Llywodraeth Cymru a’r consortia trafnidiaeth i sicrhau bod eu budd gorau wrth wraidd un-rhyw benderfyniadau cyllido sy’n cael eu gwneud. Hefyd, mae’r CTA yn meithryn cyfleoedd gwych i ehangu gallu’r sector i gynorthwyo eu haelodau gyda’u hanghenion cludiant.

Seren ap Cludiant Traveline Cymru

Mae Traveline Cymru wedi ychwanegu ap newydd i’r gwasanaethau symudol, sef ap i’r ffôn Android, sy’n dilyn yr ap i’r iPhone. Mae’r ap yn ddwyieithog ac yn ffordd o gael y gwyboda-eth diweddaraf am gludiant. Gall teithwyr gynllunio’u teithiau, lleoli’r arhosfa bws agosaf, y gwasanaethau Cludiant Cymunedol, manylion cwmnŵau bysus a rheilffyrdd a derbyn rhy-buddion teithio rheolaidd. Cyflwynwyd yr ap gan Iolo Williams, llysgennad Traveline Cymru, yn Eisteddfod Wrecsam. Gellir lawrlwytho’r ap am ddim ac mae’n hawdd i’w defnyddio.

Gyrru Gwirfoddol – Yr Ymrwymiad Yswiriant Modur

Am flynyddoedd bu cwmnŵau yswiriant yn mynnu bod gyrwyr yn nodi os oeddent yn gwneud gwaith gyrru gwirfoddol. Byddai nifer yn codi’r pris yswiriant gan bod rhai yswirwyr diffinio gyrru gwirfoddol fel milltiroedd busnes. Ers Awst 2011, mae’r mwyafrif o gwmnŵau yswiriant wedi cytuno i beidio codi mwy ar y tâl yswiriant. Mae tua 85% o’r farchnad yswir-iant modur wedi arwyddo’r Ymrwymiad Yswiriant Modur. Dim ond i geir preifat mae’r ym-rwymiad yn berthnasol. Ewch i wefan Association of British Insurers (www.abi.org.uk) lle mae rhestr o gwmnŵau sydd wedi cytuno i’r ymrwymiad.

There may currently be opportunities to work closely with local government to look at ways that community transport may be able to assist with local transport needs in innovative ways.

Welsh Government (WG) announced recently that Community Transport Concessionary Fares Initiative (CTCFI), due to cease at the end of March 2012 would be given a temporary reprieve whilst they evaluated the results. We at CTA have been calling on the Government to ensure that the severely disadvantaged people that this service was aimed at are not disadvantaged by its removal and that services operated by CT groups who charged single fares should be part of the national concessionary fares scheme. We await the outcome of WG evaluation and the conclusions they come to.

There is currently an on line petition asking for the Welsh Government to roll out the CTCFI. If you wish to show your support please follow either of the links below:https://www.assemblywales.org/gethome/e-petitions/epetition-list-ofsignatories.htm?pet_id=667&showfrm=0https://www.assemblywales.org/gethome/e-petitions/sign-petition.htmThe petition will closed on the 9th March 2012 at MiddayIf you are without e-mail, letters of support should be sent before 9th March 2012 to: The Petitions Committee, National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay, Cardiff, CF99 1NAe-mail:[email protected], Telephone: 0845 010 5500

CTA will be working closely with our Association Transport Coordinating Officers (ATCO) colleagues; WG and the transport consortia to ensure that member’s best interests are at the forefront when funding decisions are being made and to ensure that the CTA are cultivating some great opportunities to increase the sectors capacity to assist their members with their transport needs.

News from Community Transport Association Wales

Community Transport stars in Traveline Cymru’s new Travel AppTraveline Cymru has launched an android phone app, following the success of the iPhone app(For those technologically challenged, an ‘app’ simply refers to a software programme that you use online or on mobile devices!) The bilingual travel app will give travellers access to up-to-date public transport information while they are on the move. It will allow people to plan their journey, find nearby bus stops and bus routes, Community Transport and Demand responsive services, locate park and ride sites, view regular travel alerts and disruptions and access contact details for bus and rail companies.

Volunteer Driving—The Motor Insurance CommitmentVolunteers play a valuable and vital role across Wales in all sectors. But if you’re a volunteer worker, your goodwill could be having an unexpected impact on your car insurance. As of August 2011, most insurance providers have signed up to a new Association of British Insur-ers (ABI) commitment promising volunteer motorists that they would not be charged extra premiums. The commitment covers 54 insurers making up over 85% of the motor insurance market. It’s important to remember that this commitment applies to private cars insured on private car insurance policies only, except where clearly stated. Remember also that when you declare your annual mileage when buying insurance, you should include your volunteer driving in that. You can find out if your car insurance provider has signed up to this commit-ment by going to the ABI website at www.abi.org.uk where the list will be regularly updated as and when any changes are notified.

Beth sy’n cadw trefi a chymunedau’n fyw ac yn fywiog? Economi cryf. Mae angen bod pobl yn medru gweithio i ennill arian fydd yn cael ei wario ar nwyddau, gwasanaethau ac adnod-dau. Er mwyn gwneud hyn, mae angen i bobl deithio, a theithio heb fawr o ffws a ffwdan. Felly, pam mae cymaint o bobl yn ei chael hi mor anodd i deithio o fan i fan!

Yma, yng Ngheredigion, mae tua 38% o’r holl boblogaeth yn gwario 10% o incwm y car-tref ar deithio. Mae hyn yn dipyn is na gweddill y wlad, ond gall hyn i gyd waethygu gyda’r newidiadau yn y gwasanaethau bws cyhoeddus a’r toriadau yn y cymorthdaliadau i’r sector trafnidiaeth. Bydd Llywodraeth Cymru trwy’r Cynllun Trafnidiaeth Cenedlaethol yn gwario ar adnoddau ‘lle y byddai’n gwneud y gwahaniaeth mwyaf i fywydau pobl’.

Felly, beth fyddai’n gwneud gwahaniaeth i bobl? Gwasanaeth bws rheolaidd i’r dref. Gwasanaeth bws sy’n aros tuallan i’r Co-op, lle mae’r Swyddfa Post. Gwasanaeth bws sy’n cysylltu gyda’r rhwydwaith bysus, er mwyn teithio i’r gwaith. Gwasanaeth bws sy’n cyrraedd cyn bod y swyddfa’n agor. Pethau bach, fyddai’n gwneud bywyd yn haws i nifer o bobl.

Beth ddwedech chi fyddai’n gwneud gwahaniaeth i bobl Ceredigion? Danfonwch eich sylwadau i [email protected]

What keeps towns and communities alive? A strong economy. People need to work to earn a living, so they can spend on goods, services and resources. People need to travel, and travel without any fuss. So, why do so many people have difficulty traveling from A to B?

About 38% of the population of Ceredigion is in Transport Poverty, as they spend at least 10% of their household income on transport. This is not as bad as the rest of the country, but things could worsen with the changes in the public bus services and the cuts in subsi-dies to the transport sector. Welsh Government through the National Transport Plan will be putting resources where it ‘will make the most difference to people’s lives’.

So, what would make the most difference to people’s lives? A regular bus service to town? A bus service that stops outside the Co-op, where the Post Office is located? A bus service that conects to the bus network, so they can access jobs? A bus service that gets them to the workplace on time? Small things that would make people’s lives a little easier.

What do you think would make a difference to people in Ceredigion? Send your suggestions to [email protected]
