About DBT-ICGEB-CABeR
Four Pillars of Our R&D Effort
DBT-ICGEB Centre for Advanced Bioenergy Research (DBT-ICGEB-CABeR) is a centre for performing cutting-edge basic
research and its translation into reality. It thrives upon ICGEB mandate to perform research in the field of molecular biology and biotechnology and serves as platform for the synthetic biologists to work in diverse bioenergy areas such as microbial engineering, biochemical engineering, algal engineering and systems biology.
The Centre performs technology-driven basic research through genomic, metagenomic, transcriptomic and proteomic approaches; systems biology, metabolic flux analysis, metabolic modeling; engineering algae and microbes; and the innovative leads produced from the Centre are used to improve existing technologies towards the production of biofuel. The Centre extensively collaborates with premier research institutions in India and abroad to transform research outcomes into integrated commercializable technologies.

Our Major Focus - Enzymes ➤ Enzymes for 2-G ethanol very expensive➤ Up to 25% of process cost➤ This is due to less efficient enzyme with low productivity
