tone until the counter party makes a response. When the counter party is busy,

calling party hears a busy tone. In this case, calling party can make a "Internal

Call-Back". When the conversation is completed and either party hooks on the

    3.2 Paging(Public Addresser)

Extensions give with paging call priority are permitted aches to the paging equipmentby dialing a paging call digit "Broadcast O".

    "Broadcast O" LOUOSPEAKERS

    PUBLlCADORESSER

This feature allows to make an announcement through speaker(s). If the paging

system is free, speech channel will be connected by relay, while a preliminary

tone(electronic chime bell) is supplied to the telephone and speaker(s) for 2 seconds.

In case that paging system is busy, a busy tone is heard from telephone handset.

    3.3 Shore Tel. external call

The user of extension given with this feature priority can make an outgoing call

through trunk by dialing this feature digit "9" and wanted number. After dialing digit

"9", make sure of a dial tone from trunk. And then dial the wanted number. If all

trunks are busy, a busy tone will be heard. In this case, wait for some time after

hook-on and retry later, or make an external call-back.

TRUNK OIAL "9" ANO WANTEO NUMBER

If an incoming call is present on a trunk, pre-assigned extension(one, two or three

extension) receives an external ring. The user of pre-assigned extension can make a

response to the incoming call by hooking off the telephone handset during external

ringing. When an user dials digit "9" to make an external call, if there is a incoming call

on a trunk, incoming call is connected firstly.

    3.4 Internal Call-Back

When making an internal call, if the called party is busy and calling party wants to

make an internal call-back, then confirming a dial tone from telephone handset and

dials a internal call-back digit "Reserve Oial NO" and wanted internal number. Calling

    - 3 -

  • SUN TEC. CORPORATION ------------------------

party will hear a ring-back tone from the handset for 1 seconds, indicating internal

call-back activated to the called party, then hear a busy tone and speech channel for

    calling party will be reset.

HOOK_FLASH ANO OIAL "Reserve Oial NO"

If both parties, call-back calling and call-back called, become free, internal call-back

calling party receives an internal ring for 30 seconds and will be excluded from

internal call-back service if call-back calling party doesn't make a response within that

time by hooking off the telephone handset. If internal call-back calling party makes a

response within 30 seconds, he hears a ring-back tone and call-back called party

receives an internal ring. Following procedure is the same as that of inter-party call.

In case that internal call-back called party is engaged in another call procedure

before call-back calling party makes a response, then the calling party hears a busy

tone from the telephone handset when he hooks off in response to internal Call-back

ringing. But the internal call-back remains effective.

    3.5 Shore Te!. external Call-Back

When making an outgoing call, if all trunks are busy and external calling party wants

to make an external call-back, then confirming a dial tone from telephone handset

and dials a external call-back digit "Reserve 9". Calling party will hear a ring-back

tone from the handset for 1 seconds, indicating external call-back activated. But,

when the external call-back queue is full, the party hears a busy tone and is

released from speech channel. If any trunk becomes idle, external call-back activated

party receives an external ring. By hooking off the handset, external call-back activated

party seizures a trunk automatically, and hears a dial tone from trunk. In this case,

dialing telephone number only without an external call digit "9" makes an external call.

When there are several external call-backs in the queue, priorities will be honored first

    and then time sequence.

    3.6 Call Transfer

If a party wants to transfer an external cal!(incoming or outgoing) to the third party,

then makes a "HOlO" and after confirming a dial tone, dials the third party telephone

number. The HOlO makes the external cal! held on music. External cal! transferring

party hears a ring-back tone while counter third party receives an internal ring when

the third party is free, or a busy tone when the third party is busy.

    --------~~~--------

    HOlO ANO

    OIAl COUNTERNUMBER

In any case, while the transferring party is engaged in cal! transferring the second

HOlD by the transferring party restores the speech channel for the external cal! and

    music wil! be cleared.

external cal! transferring is possible as fol!ows :

    1) If the third party is free and makes a response to the cal! from transfer ring

party, internal cal! wil! be established. After confirming the party's response,

cal! transterring party hooks on, then external cal! transfer is completed.

Speech channel for the external cal! wil! be connected to the third party.

    2) After confirming the third party's ringing(transterring party hears a wingback

tonel, transferring party hooks on, then the ringing for third party wil! be

changed from internal ring to external ring, indicating cal! from trunk. External

ring continued for 30 seconds. If the third party hooks off within 30 seconds,

external cal! is connected to the third party, and if not, external ring tor the

third party stops after 30 seconds. If the extension of transferring party is free

at that time, it receives an external ring again for 30 seconds, and if not, the

external cal! wil! be released. If transferring party makes a response to the

external ring, the speech channel tor external cal! is restored.

  • SUN TEC. CORPORATION-----------------------------------------------4. INSTALLATION4.1 Installation of System

The system must be installed in a place where there is little effect of heat, moisture,

    vibration and shock.

    4.2 Caution on Connection

    (j) AII cables of Exchange System are insulated from ship body grounding. This

means that a difficult-to-detect malfunction can be caused even if a part of the

cable contacts the ship body grounding.

The exchange system uses a microcomputer and, as such, has many semiconductorsand integrated circuits. Never make wrong connection of the power to the

telephone terminal in case of system telephone(key phone).

The power circuit used for such aUachments as an bell, lamp, dial illumination, etc,is provided separately from the exchange power supply. Wrong connection or

contacting can damage the exchange system or a telephone set.

    4.3 Connection of Telephone Sets

Check, at first, internal wiring of telephone set. connection cord of desk-top type and

compact wall-mount type telephone consists of L1 in white, L2 in red.

    Connection method will be described in following;

    @ Portable Type Telephone (SAP-217 A)

This telephone set, being of drip-proof structure, has a handset, circuit network,

push button, pilot lamp and cord-connecting receiptable inside its housing. The

housing has a length adjustable shoulder strap. The accessories include a telephone-

hanging bracket and water-proof connection cord(5-20m). Usually, telephone set is

hung on the bracket. When making a call carry it to the desired place and connect

the cord to the cover and lift the handset. Future operations are the same as those

    for other telephone.

Especially for rainy weather, close the cover while the spiral cord stays out of the

cover. The water-proof notch on the cover never holds the cord. When the

conversation ends, put hang up the handset, put the handset cord in the housing

pocket and close the cover. To store this telephone set, disconnect the connection

cord from the telephone and fasten the water-proof cap of the connection tightly.

Because the connection cord is easy to remove, disconnect it from the telephone

    set, if necessary.
