CENTRAL LANCASHIRE AGE GROUPS & CHAMPIONSHIPS

We are holding the Age Groups and Championships under a NEW PROGRAMME of eventsto include 50m, 100m, 200m (ALL STROKES) AND 200M IM

The event is to be held on SUNDAY 24™ JUNE 2012 at Wigan Life Centre, College Avenue,Wigan, WN1 1NJ.

THIS IS A LICENSED LEVEL 3 MEET

Entry will be by electronic entries. All information will be e-mailed to the Competition Secretaries and the entryfiles can be e-mailed back to Diane Stafford (adli@btinternet.com). The club cheque and entry formbeing sent in the ordinary post all to arrive on or prior to the closing date of entries

The Sportsystem Electronic Entry File will be made available shortly on the Central LancashireSWPA website. The details on how to use the system will also be made available.

DO NOT USE THE MULTI STOREY (NEXT TO THE Pool) as it is very expensive.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO LACK OF SUPPORT FOR POOLSIDE HELPERS ALL CLUBSWILL BE ALLOCATED A JOB FOR THE DAY OF COMPETITION.

Central Lancashire .S.W.P.A.2012 Age Group & Championship Conditions

1. Introductionz -1 The Central Lancashire Age Groups & Championships will take place in accordance with ASA Laws

and ASA Technical Rules.

1.2 The organisation of the Championships shall be managed by the Central Lancashire SwimmingManagement Group with powers delegated to a Championship Manager.

1.3 Any question or dispute arising from these conditions or disputes related to a matter not covered hithese conditions shall be determined by the Championship Manager and may be referred to theCentral Lancashire Swimming Management Group at a later date.

2. 2012 Championships2.1 The Championships will be held at the 24th June, 2012 at Wigan Life Centre, College Avenue,

Wigan WN11NJ

2.2 The closing date for entries will be 8th May 2012. Electronic Entries (individual entries and teams)and paper copies must be returned no later than this date accompanied by the appropriate fee.

2.3 A swimmer's age for all events shall be as at midnight on 24th June 2012.

2.4 ENTRY FEES: Individual £4.00 TEAM EVENTS: £5.00

2.5 Coaches requiring access to the poolside must be in possession of a Pass issued by the CentralLancashire S.W.P.A

The fee for 2012 is £5.00 per person per day

It is mandatory that all Coaches comply with the relevant ASA Child Protection Procedures and havean up to date CRB certificate. (See also section 14 below.)

3. Eligibility for EntryIndividuals3.1 The Championships shall be open to eligible swimmers., as defined by the ASA, who are members of

clubs affiliated to the Central Lancashire S.W.P.A.

3.2 A swimmer must have been a member of the club in whose name he is entered, and registered(Category 2) as such with the ASA at the closing date for entries 8th May 2012.

3.3 A swimmer entered in the name of one club hi the individual events may not compete in the name ofanother club in the team events.

4. Disability competitors4.1 Central Lancashire S.W.P.A. encourage disability swimmers to compete in these championships

subject to their satisfying the general conditions . Conditions and qualifying times can be found onthe website:- www.centrallancas.ore

5. The Events5.1 The Age Group and Championship competition shall consist of the following age groups:

• 9,10, 11,12, 13, 14 years, 15 years and Open5.2 Individual events Please note that 9/10 years will not compete in 100m events.

• Freestyle: 50m, 100m, 200m,• Backstroke: 50m, 100m, 200m• Butterfly: 50m, 100m, 200m• Breaststroke: 50m, 100m, 200m• Individual Medley: 200m.

6. Awards6 1 The first, second and third placed swimmers in each individual Age Group and Championship events

shall be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals respectively. The Junior & Senior Champion of eachevent will be awarded the Championship Trophy for the relevant event.

7. Submission of Entries7.1 Entries, accompanied by the appropriate entry fee must be received by the specified closing date. Late

entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Championship Manager.

7.2 If times submitted have not been achieved in a licensed meet, proof must be provided.

7.3 Entry times must be:• 25m times, or• 50m tunes converted to 25m tunes.All converted times must use the ASA Equivalent Performance Tables (use of the ASA Tables sectionon http://www.pullbuov.co.uk/times/ is permissible).

7.4 The competitor's club shall be responsible for:7.4.1. Ensuring that all swimmers are ASA Category 2 registered.7.4.2. Checking and validating the entry forms and fees.7.4.3. Ensure that any entries using split times have supporting documentation confirming the split

times.7.4.3 Returning the completed entry forms (see condition 7.3 above) and a single cheque (to cover

individual and team entries, and coaches passes).

7.5 Entries will be audited against the rankings published by the ASA and any club may be challenged todemonstrate the authenticity of the information provided.

THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR INCORRECT ENTRIES.

7.6 The Championship Manager reserves the right to correct any time conversion calculations that arefound to be incorrect in order that competitors are seeded correctly.

7.7 The Championship Manager reserves the right to restrict entries in the interests of safety, timeconstraints and to ensure the smooth running of the competition. Where this rale is invoked theswimmers with the fastest submitted times shall take precedence. Events chosen for restriction will beat the discretion of the Championship Manager.

7.8 Submitted entry times shall be used for seeding and rejection purposes as required.

7.9 Refunds will only be given:

7.9.1 Where entrants are denied entry because condition 7.7 above has been exercised.7.9.2 Where a competitor has to withdraw on medical grounds subject to an

appropriate medical certificate being received by the Championship Manager.

7.10 Once an entry has been submitted improved times will not be accepted.

8. Confirmation of entry8.1 Within 14 days of the closing date for the competition each club will be sent (by email) details of their

entries stored by the meet management software. These should be used to cross check the accuracy ofthose entries and to allow any necessary corrections to be made. The final gala program will beproduced as a result of any corrections that are received. There will be no subsequent alterations totimes, and no late or poolside entries.

8.2 Clubs will be informed of the reasons for any rejected entries.

9. Meet proceduresHeats9.1 A withdrawal system will be in operation. Competitors or their representatives must inform the

organisers at least one hour before the start of the session if they do not intend to swim. Notificationmay be by email, telephone or text - details will be advised to all competing clubs - or by completingthe form shown in section 19 below. There will be no refund of entry fees for such withdrawals unlessthe withdrawal is for medical reasons hi which case an appropriate certificate must be provided.

9.2 Any swimmer who has previously withdrawn can be reinstated before the appropriate closingdeadline.

9.3 Competitors are responsible for presenting themselves to the Competitor's Stewards two events priorto the one in which they are competing. It is the swimmer's responsibility to be at the start in timefor the race. This applies to both heats and finis.

Other9.4 Any swimmer who withdraws from a heat of any event on medical grounds will not be allowed to

compete again on the same day. However, they may compete on subsequent days, if any, of thechampionships. If they do not comply with this requirement they will be fined £10 for each event inwhich they compete.

9.5 A swimmer/team failing to comply with any of the foregoing conditions shall not be allowed tocompete hi the Championships.
