FALL 2012 Center Stage LEARN TO DANCE FOR FREE! Contact Us: Dear Parent or Guardian, Members of Center Stage invite your child to experience the joy of dance! Center Stage's mission is to provide FREE dance lessons for children in the Columbia Public Schools that may not have the opportunity otherwise. University of Missouri college students teach the classes that will meet one hour each week on the MU campus. We also have two recitals scheduled during the year to showcase our fabulous dancers. We have offered classes the past four years, and Center Stage has been an outstanding success! Our students learn techniques and skills just as they would in a traditional dance studio. We rely on individual and company donations for costumes, props, music, and paperwork. Please remember to fully complete the forms for registration AND liability, and turn it in as soon as possible! If you have any further questions about Center Stage please contact one of the officers and/or sponsor. Or email us and we will get back to you as soon as possible (email listed to the right). LIABILITY AND POLICY INFORMATION

• Center Stage is not liable for any injuries or personal belongings while child is participating in practices or related events. • To ensure the safety of all students, sick children should not attend dance class until he/she is free of illness for 24 hours. • Class sizes will be limited to 15 students per teacher. • Classes will be cancelled when Columbia Public Schools are cancelled. • Students should wear comfortable clothing. Please no jeans or skirts. Tennis shoes or dance shoes are the only acceptable footwear. Long

hair should be tied back and students should avoid wearing jewelry. • Students should arrive 5 minutes before class begins and be picked up promptly when class is over. Teachers will stay no longer than 15

minutes after class ends. If there are restrictions regarding whom the child may leave with, a guardian must submit a list with the registration form. The guardian must notify teachers in person of any changes or additions to the list.

• Students who consistently disrupt class might be asked to sit out. If the problem persists, students may be asked to leave class permanently. • Parents and siblings may stay and watch practice, but should leave if they are a distraction to the dancers. • Students are required to attend and participate in the majority of the classes in order to perform in the recital. It is at the teacher’s discretion

as to whether a dancer may perform at recital. • Center Stage does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, sexual orientation, financial positions, descendants of war veterans, or age.
