Conditions of SaleAll financial transactions will be made the evening of the event and signatures of winning bidders will be collected at the time of sale.

All items are sold as-is. All sales are final. There will be no refunds, returns, or exchanges of items. Gift certificates are

not redeemable for cash.

The Hockaday School makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, in connection with any sale, including, without

limitations, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, or any warranty of value. No statement in this

catalog or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty or assumption of liability by The Hockaday School or

the donor of the item, property, or service. Auction participants understand that all items have been solicited in good faith and that

all descriptions, representations, and values associated with an item are based on information supplied by the donor and are

approximate values.

Some items have restrictions which are stated, to the best of our knowledge, on the certificate and in this catalog. All items are subject to the donors involved and dates must be agreed upon by both purchaser and the donor unless the date has already been determined and listed. Vacation homes and trips are donated for adult or family use only and

may not be sold to third parties or donated to other nonprofit organizations.

Absentee BiddingThe Hockaday School welcomes anyone who is interested in bidding on auction items for The Live Auction of the Century. You need not

be present at The Live Auction of the Century to bid or to win. If you are interested in obtaining more information on a specific item

and/or would like to request a copy of our Absentee Bidding form, please contact Meagan McCracken;

Invitations to The Patron Party and Live Auction of the Century are extended to underwriters and sponsors at the $2,500 level and above.

Space for this event is limited and reservations are on a first come, first served basis.

Payment Auction winners must pay for all items before leaving the Auction.

Purchases may be made with cash, check, MasterCard, Visa, or AMEX. Please make checks payable to “The Hockaday School.” Gift certificates

and items will be distributed the evening of the event.

All items should be taken home the night of the auction, Friday, March 21, 2014.

The Live Auction begins at approximately 7:30 pm and will continue

until all items are sold. All descriptions and restrictions are listed in this catalog.

All bidding will be done by bidder number. To place a bid, raise your

paddle or wave your hand to be acknowledged by the Auctioneer or Spotter. Your oral or motion bid constitutes an agreement to buy.

The Auctioneer will determine who has the winning bid. The winning bidder will be presented with a bid sheet to sign and will be instructed

on methods of payment to be collected at the time of the auction. The bidder’s signature confirms the purchase price of the item

auctioned. The Auctioneer may add terms and conditions to the Live Auction items prior to auctioning them.

Buyers should contact donors within 30 days, unless specified

otherwise, to arrange dinners and vacations. Vacation homes and trips are not transferable and are subject to availability, black-out dates,

taxes, and gratuities.

Taxes and tips are not included unless specifically noted. Federal, excise, state, and local tax must be paid where applicable by the purchaser.

All auction items, packages, gift certificates, and services must be

redeemed by March 21, 2015, with no exception, unless otherwise specified.

Any dispute will be resolved in a manner designated by the Auction

Mediator, Nancy Burke, in conjunction with The Hockaday School, in their sole discretion. All decisions made of the Auction Mediator will be

final and binding on all auction participants.
