Thailand’s easternmost province, bordering Cambodia, Trat is a tropical escape destination that is nonetheless only an hour by air from Bangkok, or four hours by road. Trat’s main attractions for holidaymakers are its long and almost empty unspoiled beaches, clear seas, and the 52 islands that belong to the province, including those of the Mu Koh Chang Marine National Park. Centara Chaan Talay Resort & Villas Trat is set directly on the beach, looking out towards Koh Chang, and enjoys a natural rural setting. LIVING

All accommodation is in spacious suites and villas with up to 91 square metres of l iv ing space, each with a balcony or terrace. The suites have a large living room in addition to the bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and for larger parties an extra bed can be placed in the living room. There is a choice of a king bed or two double beds, for the comfort of families. Honeymooners have their own suite, which features a Jacuzzi on the sun terrace. The beachfront villas are set directly on the beach, and each features its own private Jacuzzi as well as a large terrace for lounging and sunbathing. Small-size pets are welcome to stay in the suites and villas with their owners.

CHILLINGBacking onto a river, with tropical gardens to one side and an 800-metre stretch of sugar-white sand dotted with casuarina trees to the front, the resort is a picturesque haven of peace and privacy. A large infinity pool is set on the beachfront, and there is a shallow section for children. We offer complimentary equipment for non-motorised water sports such as snorkelling and kayaking. Aromatherapy, therapeutic massages and skincare treatments are provided in the restful ambience of the resort spa. Island hopping is one of the great delights of Trat, this and other excursions such as a full-day diving trip to Koh Kood can be arranged by the resort’s own tour desk. For guests who prefer to stay connected, wireless internet access is available throughout the resort with our compliments.

DINING

Whether it is enjoying a healthy breakfast from the buffet, or dining at any time of the day or evening from the extensive a la carte menu, Azure offers an exciting range of flavours from international and Asian along with tangy Thai specialities, with an accent on fresh local seafood. Those who don’t want to stray too far from the poolside can enjoy refreshing drinks and cool cocktails on the beach at Breezes Beach Bar.Guests who would like to dine in the privacy of their suite or villa can order in-room dining during the day or evening.

MEETING & SIGHTSEEING

With its secluded setting and natural surroundings, the resort provides an intimate venue for events. Krissana Hall will hold 100 persons theatre-style or for cocktails, and 60 persons for a banquet. Equipped with meeting facilities and audio-visual equipment, the venue is located in the gardens with natural light on three sides of the room. Special excursions can be arranged for parties, and outdoor team-building events are easily organised at locations near to the resort.
