• Treated root canal with guttapercha.

• Select universal drill to remove root filling(1,000-2,000 rpm).

Leave minimum 4 mm of filling apically.

• Select post size and matching drill.

Use appropriate drill to widen and shapethe root canal.

• Insert post to check the fit in the preparedcanal. Should be able to easily removethe post.

• Shorten post to the required length usinga diamond disk and Suction system.

Note: Do not use scissors, scalpelsor similar tools since they will crushthe post and ruin the structure andstability.

• Disinfect the post with alcohol and dryit with air free of water and oil.

Note: Primer not needed whencemented with RelyX Unicem cement.

• Clean or disinfect the root canal with2.5-5.25% sodium hypochlorite solution(NaOCl). Rinse immediately with waterand dry with paper points.

Note: Do not use hydrogen peroxide(H2O2), other disinfectants, and EDTAsolutions because their residues canimpair the adhesion strength and curingreaction of RelyX Unicem cement.

• Insert activated capsule into mixingdevice (triturator/amalgamator).

Mix 10 seconds for 3M™ EPSE™RotoMix™ Capsule Mixing Unit.

Mix 15 seconds at highest speedfor other mixing devices.

• Attach the RelyX Unicem AplicapElongation Tip to the nozzle.

Listen for an audible “click”.

• Insert capsule into Activator.

Press down handle completely andhold for 2-4 seconds.

Note: Do not use Lentulo spirals toapply the cement in the root canal asthis will cause the cement to set faster.

• Seat the post immediately.

Twist slightly and apply moderatepressure to hold in position.

• Apply moderate pressure whileremoving excess with appropriateinstruments or a cotton pellet.

• Light cure cement for 40 seconds orallow to self-cure for 5 minutes fromstart of mix.

• Begin apically in the root canal anddispense RelyX Unicem cement. Keepelongation tip immersed in the cementinitially and during the entire cementapplication process to avoid trappedair in the cement.
