Hello! My name is Celine Slevin and I am a Junior Graphic Designer with a BA(Hons.) in Visual Communications. I have a passion for all things visual, from layout to screen to design treatment. As an outgoing, cheerful designer, I love to get stuck into both small and large design jobs and aim to learn something new each day.

As part of a team for a YCN brief, an advertising campaign centered around a new product for Boost was to be created. This saw the making of a range of four FUNNER functional waters for Boost. The approach brings a new exciting perspective to the benefits of these waters. The print aspect consists of packaging design, printed adverts and interactive in-store displays. We created, eye-catching bottles with a TWIST, literally! The TWIST identity has its own personality, complimenting the Boost Logo.

This project visualizes a short story through the use of video. The aim of this brief was to create a different form of reading. The story this video piece is based on is called ‘Deer at Rest’ by Thisbe Nissen. As this is a flash fiction the piece reflects this through use of flashbacks and the pace quickly changes between fast and slow. An eery and sorrowful tone is depicted throughout with typographic elements coming into play to reinforce the seriousness of the situation at hand.

This project involved creating a poster design which fought against The Death Penalty, and then the designing of an app for the ipad. The concept behind this poster was to ‘cut out’ the Death Penalty. The target audience for this was the student body and this informed the choice of photography. The blend of typography with photography allows the aesthetic qualities of this piece to come through.

BROCHURE DESIGNTrinity College Dublin
Trinity College Dublin were opening a new building in 2016 and needed a brochure explaining what the department did over the last number of years. Based on elements from their previous brochure a few year ago, a new one was created but bringing a more modern feel to it all. A mix of abstract images and neat information draws the eye and makes it easyto read.

Kennedys Bar and Restaurant in Dublin became a regular client of mine while I was working in Reads Design and Print. One of the first jobs was to recreate their logo. From there the company came back to design menus, posters, business cards, signage and much more.

ADVERTISINGThe Drawing Awards
This project involved creating a new identity for the awards and to also create a campaign in the lead up to the submissions and event. The concept of tattoos came about through discussion of the word ‘commitment’. We want students to commit to their own personal work and to enter it into the awards. As part of a team, a selection of temporary tattoos were created with quirky sentences that related to the different disciplines within the college such as painting and graphics. Each tattoo comes with a submission card to enter a piece of work to the event. The aim was to create hype throughout the college through use of the quirky temporary tattoo which the students would then wear, hence advertising the event.

COVER LETTERThanks for having a look through my portfolio, I hope it has given you an inside into the type of design I am capable of. But, they are by no means my limit and I hope that by working with you I will be pushed even further into developing my work and creating even more. Working fast is no issue for me as I have just come from a fast paced environment where jobs had to be turned around very quickly, sometimes on the spot design while a customer waited.
Open minded, quick learner, bubbly, positive, hard working, friendly. Just some of the phrases that pop into the minds of those around me that best describe me. I’m Irish, I’m 24 and I have a lot to give to a great company.
