DJ CHEF "The Chef That Rocks!' is the only entertainer who simultaneously cooks &

deejays for special events world wide. DJ CHEF recently flexed his culinary chops by

winning Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen. On the DJ side, his was a finalist for BizBash

Magazine’s “DJ of the Year” award.

His recipe was simple, “Spin the beats while cookin’ the treats” Throw in some celebrity soirees along with a TV pilot and a dash of media buzz. For nearly 10 years, DJ CHEF has been hitting up a scene that has never been tapped. He is “the only entertainer who simultaneously cooks & DJ’s for special events worldwide”. While his experience and determination have guided him to the top of his game, DJ CHEF has been hailed as a pioneer and innovator for successfully fusing his two passions and becoming a national crowd pleasing culinary entertainer. His culinary point of view is “remixing American cooking” by updating classic dishes with a modern, creative & sometimes healthier twist. DJ CHEF recently co-hosted the World Food Championship in Las Vegas with “Man vs Food” star Adam Richman & performed at the Nokia Lumia launch party at the Playboy club & with Jersey Shores Snooki at the iHip Headphones booth, both at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Marc’s great grandfather has been the inspiration for his motivation and the love of his career. He has truly learned a great lesson from “Poppy,” who always told him to “Love what you do”. “My grandma is so passionate when she speaks about him. He loved his work and loved his family. Marc’s great grandfather worked at his produce market until he was 90-years-old & passed away when he was 18.

“My grandma says he gave away as much as he sold!” During the 1920s, Poppy had bigger plans and opened a small store in Harlem. And in 1935, he moved to the City of Long Beach, NY and opened up a green market called King Kohen—located where Waldbaum’s in Long Beach is today. Marc used to visit the fresh fruit and vegetable market everyday with his grandmother to pick him up from work.

“I remember running around the store grabbing vegetables and fruit and he would tell me what it was and why it was so good,” Marc fondly recalled of his childhood. “All he cared about was doing a good job and making sure all of the kids on the block had a fresh banana or apple.”

While music and cooking has always been Marc’s passions, as a teen he began making his hobbies into a reality. Marc began deejaying at house parties when he was just 15. A couple years later, he additionally took on a job as a prep cook during week. After graduating high school, and after many suggestions from his caterer boss, Marc enrolled at the New York Restaurant School in New York City. He earned his chef toque and went on to train under top chefs Bobby Flay,

Matthew Kenney & John Tesar and in fine kitchens throughout the NYC. Marc found his culinary groove and returned to Long Island & local restaurants achieve rave reviews for his cooking & decadent desserts. His dream of becoming a great chef was becoming a reality within local media outlets like News 12, Newsday, and The New York Times, and Marc began hosting and catering private parties during that time. In time, more and more clients began socializing in the kitchen with him asking him culinary questions & partaking in the fun in the kitchen,.

After the launch of Food Network, Marc saw food as an entertainment tool and set out to make his passion for music and food a combination for success. He began entertaining at parties and events where he deejayed while preparing a gourmet meal and from then on the DJ CHEF was born.

DJ CHEF’s unique talents became popular enough that he was beginning to get inquires to perform at major events & celebrity soirées including Christie Brinkley & B.Smith’s Blue Moon BBQ in the Hamptons, James Blunt’s CD Release Party in NYC and has appeared on multiple television shows and segments including: Food Network’s “What’s Hot!, What’s Cool!,” MTV’s Celebrity Spring Break Style

To mark and honor his success, DJ CHEF was recently honored by his Alma Mater, the New York Restaurant School, and will be inducted into their Hall of Fame for his achievement and innovation in the culinary field. Marc also actively supports numerous charities and organizations. He served as Honorary Chairman for an event to help in the fight against AIDS with LIACC and as the honorary chef for the March of Dimes Star Chef’s Gala. He was also the emcee and judge for the Long Island Top Amateur Chef competition which raises funds for a scholarship to send a talented teen to culinary school & has done numerous cancer research fundraisers. When his not working, DJ CHEF loves to spend time with his preteen daughters Hannah & Rayna. Together they have perfected their Grandma Sally’s Turkey-Basil Meatball recipe.

Presently, DJ CHEF is working on his own reality television series and cookbook and is performing nationwide at special events, food festivals and trade shows.
