There are many different types of celebrations, but in Jamaica We celebrate our country,s independence.

Jamaica became independent onAugust 6, 1962. On that Day the National flag was flown for the first time.

They also wear T-shirts and dressesWith the colour of the flag.

Jamaicans sing song about celebrating our independence.This is called a festival song competition

A festival Queen competition is also a part of the celebration.

The festival queens have to know their Culture well, they have know the dances,The food, the songs and poems. They should also know where they come from

We celebrate by dancing our African culture dances.
