Meredith is the daughter of Mike and Max Kalkwarf ofGarner. Meredith’s grandparents are Loren and AlbertaKalkwarf of Garner.

Landon’s parents are Bonnie Quandt and the late RickQuandt of Garner. Landon’s grandparents are Paul andMarian Quandt of Waterloo.

Maid of honor was Lindsey Elliott. Meredith’s otherattendants were Lindsey Hillers, Erin Voss, Morgan Tue,Brooke Banse, and Devon Barto. Best man was JordanAdams. Landon’s other attendants were DamonQuandt, Tyler Mock, Logan Clement, Marty Kalkwarf,and Josh Banse.

Meredith graduated from Garner-Hayfield HighSchool, Garner, and Hawkeye Community College,Waterloo. Meredith is employed by Dentistry at Somer-set of Ames. Landon graduated from Garner-HayfieldHigh School, Garner. Landon is attending Iowa StateUniversity of Ames.

The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico.The couple will reside in Ames, Iowa.

brating their 50th wedding anniversary.They were married Nov. 25, 1962, at Emmanuel-St.

John’s Lutheran Church in Lytton, Iowa.They came to Mason City in 1967, where Ken was a

teacher in the Mason City Schools, and Marlene a nurseat Park Hospital, then Mercy Hospital. They’re nowretired and enjoy golf, bridge, music, and traveling.

NIACC designated ‘Military Friendly School’MMAASSOONN CCIITTYY —— G.I. Jobs, the premier magazine for

military personnel transitioning into civilian life, hasawarded North Iowa Area Community College the des-ignation of “Military Friendly School.”

The 2013 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schoolsthat are doing the most to embrace America’s militaryservice members and veterans as students.

This is the fourth consecutive year that NIACC hasearned the military-friendly college recognition.

G.I. Jobs surveyed student veterans. This feedbackprovides prospective military students with insight intothe student veteran experience at a particular institu-tion based on peer reviews from current students.

released its Dean’s List for the summer semester. Stu-dents named to the list achieved a 3.3 grade point aver-age or higher, after completing 12 or more credit hours.

City, are the parents of a daughter, Eleonora, born at7:43 p.m. Oct. 20, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center —North Iowa, Mason City.

She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 21 incheslong.

Eleonora is welcomed by her big sister Elisabeth, andbig brothers Elias and Aaron.

Her grandparents are Randy and Nelly Bodeen, ofMason City, Ingemar Carlsson of Göteborg, Sweden,and Lisbeth Vägermark, of Enköping, Sweden.

Pederson, Parker Melissa Parker and Brodie Pederson were united in

marriage on Oct. 12, 2012, at Brandenburg, Ky.Melissa is the daughter of Jane Kelly of Buckhorn,

Calif., and Reed Parker of Victorville, Calif. Grandparentsare Edward and Mary Parker of Victorville, Calif., andKatherine and the late James Shoemaker of LaVern, Calif.

Brodie’s parents are Brian and Vicki Pederson of NoraSprings. Brodie’s grandparents are Roger and ShirleyWyborny of Rock Falls and the late Robert and EmeliaPederson of Nora Springs.

The wedding and a dinner was held at the couple’sBrandenburg home.

Melissa is employed by Irvington Animal Clinic of Irv-ington, Ky. Brodie is employed by CEMEX Inc., ofLouisville, Ky.
