Jay graduated from the College of Wooster, and theUniversity of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed ageneral surgery residency at the University of NorthDakota, and is currently a fellow in colon and rectalsurgery at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Algona students participate in All State JazzAALLGGOONNAA — Two Algona High School musicians,
Jacob Lampman and Peter Jorgenson, participated inthe 2012 Class 3A Iowa All-State Jazz Band, May 10, atthe Iowa Bandmasters Association Conference in DesMoines.
Lampman, a senior, participated on guitar, and Jor-genson, a freshman, on alto sax. The students submit-ted a CD of audition materials in January and wereaccepted based on a blind audition process.
Acceptance into the Iowa All-State Jazz Band is thehighest honor a high school jass band student canreceive in the state of Iowa, according to a newsrelease.
