Christmas EveChristmas Eve 5:00pm 5:00pm
A candlelight service designed to be especially convenient
for families with children. The Christmas story will be told, and the sharing of the light will help all to focus on the coming of the Christ-Child.
7:00pm7:00pm A more traditional candlelight service with hymns and music, readings, a time of reflection, and communion for all
Christian believers. The service will conclude with the
singing of “Silent Night” while the sanctuary is bathed in candlelight, a beautiful time of expectancy for the coming Christ.
It’s hard to believe, but only two Sundays remain in this year (Maybe just one, depending on when you read this newsletter!). Your continued commitment and generosity in giving to the mission of our church is much appreciated and
offers a strong witness to the depth of spiritual maturity
among many of our members.
Recently we have received a number of gifts that have really helped us financially. We invite you to consider joining with these in remembering our church with your special end-of-year giving. To meet our budget and pay our expenses for the year, we need to receive $200,000 by year’s end. For those of you wishing to make year-end
gifts, your gift must be received in the church office or postmarked no later than December 31, 2016; E-Giving online gifts and gifts of stock must be initiated no later than December 31st.
Again, thank you for your support through your offerings and gifts.
Only Two Sundays To Go Christmas DayChristmas Day 10:00am10:00am
Let us join in worship and welcome the newborn King. There will be one service and no Sunday school. During worship as we celebrate Christ’s birth, we will also celebrate three baptisms. Following the service you will have the opportunity to gather with your family and friends in the
Welcome Center for a time of refreshments and fellowship.
Celebration of Advent Through
Music Continues This Sunday
Thank you to the Sanctuary Choir for leading worship so beautifully in music last Sunday. This Sunday, the Children’s Choirs will continue our Advent celebration as they lead in the 11:00am worship service.
With the weather forecast not looking favorable for our outdoor presentation on Saturday, we decided to cancel our production for this year. We hope you will find ways on your own to proclaim the story of the greatest gift ever
given as you are going in this Advent Season.

Nice Gift Ideas While making out your shopping list, consider this hanging ornament in the shape of our sanctuary building. It is a
highly detailed piece made of 24 karat gold plated brass that includes the inscription “Fredericksburg Baptist Church, Fredericksburg Virginia.” As a highlighting feature, the doors on the
ornament sport the color red. This
ornament includes a gift box and may be purchased in the church office for only $15.00 each, or two for $25.00.

Creative Journaling
Thursdays in January (5, 12, 19, and 26)
9:30am Join us on Thursday mornings from 9:30 – 11:00am in room PA111 for a time of
creativity and reflection! Barbara McPherson will lead us in exploring the art of creative journaling. As we begin the new year, this is a great way for us to add a creative expression to our daily devotional time or a great tool to have for times that are especially meaningful for any number of reasons! Barbara will share some of her own examples and offer ideas for how we may get started! For January 5, just bring a journal or composition notebook (lined or unlined) and
Barbara will have some art supplies we can try. Before the second week, you may want to purchase some special supplies of your own, or bring some you already have at home.
