Voluntary Come Thou Almighty King Christopher Leysath, organ

Chiming of the Trinity (Please stand when chiming begins)

Call to Worship

Though there are rulers, presidents, kings, queens, God is the Lord of all life. In God we live and move and have our being. God requires our faithfulness and our service. We reach out to others with the same kind of love with which God has touched our lives. Come, let us worship the Lord who is always with us. Let us praise God who walks daily by our side. AMEN.

Processional Hymn Heralds of Christ UMH 567 1 Heralds of Christ, who bear the King's commands, immortal tidings in your mortal hands, pass on and carry swift the news you bring; make straight, make straight the highway of the King.

2 Through desert ways, dark fen, and deep morass, through jungles, sluggish seas, and mountain pass, build now the road, and falter not, nor stay; prepare across the earth the King's highway.

3 Lord, give us faith and strength the road to build, to see the promise of the day fulfilled, when war shall be no more, and strife shall cease upon the highway of the Prince of Peace.

Passing of the Peace (Congregation greets one another in the name of the Lord) Minister: The peace of the Lord be always with you People: And also with you

Prayer of Confession

Holy God, we have forgotten how to love. We praise you with our lips while remaining mute about your children— children who suffer from hunger and lack of shelter and warmth. We lift up our eyes to delight in the starry heavens, while turning our gaze from the homeless and the needy. Open our hearts to the welfare of others, that we may live the promise of a new heaven and a new earth. We pray in the forgiving name of Jesus. Amen.

Words of Assurance

Though we ask God with the psalmist: “What is humanity that you are mindful of us? Who are we that you care for us so deeply?” You answer: “You are my children, whom I have made but a little below the angels. I have crowned you with glory and honor, and will always love you.”

Pastoral Prayer and Lord’s Prayer (pg. 895) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Children’s Time Rev. Randall Haase (Children may come forward if comfortable, then they will be dismissed to go to BLAST / BLAST Jr. More info about BLAST on back of bulletin.)

Offertory Prayer Rev. Tommy Wilkes

Anthem/Offertory Here I Am Chancel Choir By Nolan Williams

Doxology UMH 95 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen

Hymn of Preparation Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service UMH 581

Affirmation of Faith Apostle’s Creed Rev. Randall Haase

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Gloria Patri (Greatorex Irr.) UMH 71 Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, World without end. Amen, Amen.

Scripture Mark 10: 35-45 Rev. Tommy Wilkes

Sermon “Instruments of Grace” Rev. Tommy Wilkes

Hymn of Commitment Make Me A Servant (x2) The Faith We Sing 2176

Make me a servant, humble and meek; Lord, let me lift up those who are weak. And may the prayer of my heart always be: Make me a servant, make me a servant, Make me a servant today.

Guest Welcome Rev. Randall Haase

Benediction Rev. Tommy Wilkes

Choral Benediction The Irish Blessing Chancel Choir & Congregation

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be at your back. May the sun shine warmly on your face. May the rain fall softly on your fields.

And until we meet again, until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
