Welcome to the Jazz Age of 1922 New York! A time of speakeasies, bobbed hair, higher heels, shorter skirts and Jazz. Based on the 1967 film with Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore, Thoroughly Modern Millie got its start here in San Diego at the La Jolla Playhouse. It went on to dance its way onto Broadway in 2002 winning six TONY awards, including Best Musical. We are so excited to bring Millie back home to San Diego!

Big Broadway tap musicals like 42nd street, Singin in the Rain and Millie were among the first movie musicals I saw as a very young child. They inspired me to start performing and will always hold a very special place in my heart. I am so grateful to have

had this opportunity to return to those roots with a show like Millie and surround myself with the energy and excitement of such a wonderful team of artists and designers. It truly takes a village. This is a show with so much heart and joy and this cast and crew have brought that to life. They have shared their talents, their vulnerability, their sweat and their tears. For that, I am eternally grateful. On behalf of our entire production team, thank you so very much for your support of live theater!
