Celebrating Chicago Building At CBC’s 2016 Merit Awards
Hard Hat Hub recently had the pleasure of attending the Chicago Building Congress’s
(CBC) 60th Annual Merit Awards in downtown Chicago. The Merit Awards provide a
night to truly celebrate all of the effort put into the Chicago building industry by leading
companies since 1956. Thirtysix finalists to be recognized and only nine winning
projects receive Merit Awards through out the nine categories being judged. The nine
categories as as follow:
● New Construction Chicago – Over $55 Million
● New Construction Chicago – Under $55 Million
● New Construction Suburbs
● Rehab Construction
● Construction Under $15 Million
● Infrastructure Construction
● Industrial Construction
● Interior Buildout
● CBC / COAA Owners’ Choice Award
Lavish networking prior to Merit Awards dinner.
The CBC board members singled out the nominated outstanding projects in each
category, while the judging took place of each recipient for each Merit Award. As if in
this moment you could que a drum roll… It is truly as they say the “academy awards” for
the building industry. The reviewing process completes and they announce the winners
who receive a hefty granite cornerstone Merit Award upon stage.
President of CBC, Paul Helmer, welcomes Merit Awards guests.
Hard Hat Hub is proud to have employer partners, The Walsh Group and W.B. Olson,
presented with a Merit Award as a symbol of the lasting effect of the efforts they have
made on this great industry.
