What We Do at Celebrate Freedom
- Provide transitional housing for men whose lives were thrown off-track by addiction, incarceration or homelessness.
- Provide ‘recovery coaching’ services by a state Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS),
who helps the men set addiction-recovery goals and plan a customized recovery program for themselves.
What We Do at Celebrate Freedom
- Provide weekly class in Relapse Prevention Strategies and weekly Christian-based Twelve Steps meeting.- Link our men with volunteer mental-health counselors who help them delve
into their underlying issues.

Key Elements of Our Affordable Recovery Community for the Working Man:
1. Goal-setting assistance and recovery coaching by an Indiana Certified Recovery Specialist
2. ‘Community as Method.’ As a modified therapeutic community, our clients serve as role models, leaders, and “evaluators” of other clients’ performance.
3. Weekly ‘Relapse Prevention’ classes and weekly Peer Encounter sessions (in which clients hold each other accountable for their progress).
4. As a holistic program, we connect clients with free medical care at the Gennessaret Free Clinics and with free mental-health counseling through Indiana Wesleyan University Counseling Center.
5. We introduce our clients to the Twelve Steps through the faith-based “Celebrate Recovery” program.
6. Gradually, as the client moves to ever-higher levels, he assumes more responsibility for determining his own recovery program.

ALSO AT CELEBRATE FREEDOM:
- Monitoring services for Probation / Home Detention departments who send men here (We
keep them updated on these clients’ progress and enforce their rules).
- Our approach is a balance between the medical model and a faith-based one. We see nothing in the Bible that contradicts the idea that abuse of drugs and alcohol can
have a biological impact on the brain.
What Makes Us Different?
At $95 a week, we’re more affordable than medical rehabs. Yet our programs such as Relapse Prevention Classes, recovery coaching and professional counseling make us a cut above Indy’s halfway houses.
We felt there was a need, beyond a mere “sober house,”for a program where a person who can’t afford an expensive medical rehab or can’t give up his job for 3 months, could get a quality recovery program. This is the middle ground we strive to fill.
