JULY 20Greetings from the beautiful island of Cebu in the Philippines. We have had a busy, productive and Spirit filled mo

promised to tell you about more of our ministries this month and I will try to fit in one but so many exciting thin

ave been happening that it may have to wait for next month.

CC Downey Summer Team 2013

How time flies. The team arrived

on August 13th and in the blink of

an eye they were on their way

home. The team consisted of 6

women, 2 teenagers and an adult

male.

hey came along side of us in our

ministries, loving the people in our

church and serving them. They

were up bright and early everyday and stayed up late almost

every night to be sure we

accomplished all we planned with

hem.

We had our trials as one of our cars

overheated twice, our other car

had a burned out windshield wiper

motor and the transmission handle

came off in our drivers hand. Many

rials but God prevailed.

hey helped with our one day VBS

or over 760 children. Our goal

was 1000 but some who signed up

didn't show up.

Kid's Extravaganza 7

Our theme this year was "The Armor of

God" and as we prepared, weexperienced warfare like never

before. Some examples are, the

military base where we usually host

our Extravaganza was unavailable

and we only found out 2 weeks

before the event, we had to use tents

where we hosted the event and at

the last minute the cost of the rental

of the tents was raised 25%, we rented

portable toilets and the owners did

not pick them up at the end of theday so the night before the next

school day the principal (we used the

elementary school as a venue),

called and said they had to be gone

by 6:30 am the next day.

We struggled to find a truck to rent

and men from the church and ladies

went to the school to remove them. If

we failed our feedings would be

canceled and we would be in trouble

with the local government. Also, 7 of

our 85 volunteer workers failed to

show (first time ever) and a girl

sprained her arm in one of the games.

This is just a sample of the warfare but

in the end GOD WON!!!

Over 760 children went home with a

Wordless bracelet on their arm that

they made in crafts, prepared to tell

the story to their parents. Praise the

Lord!!!

Woman2Woman Titus 2

For 3 days the woman on the teamtaught 2 classes per day to 20 women

who wanted to learn to disciple otherwomen. Tears were flowing, womenwere broken and revived and the HolySpirit just took over for all of thesetrainings.

After the Disciplers were trained, therewas a kick-off for women who wantedto be discipled. 22 women came to bediscipled and Titus 2 was not only taughtwhile the team was here but it was upand running before they left.

Six of the women trained to disciplewere from Calvary Chapel Cebu City inTalamban (Pastor Bong's church). Theyare now implementing it in their church.

As a result of this training andencouragement from the team, ourwomen really came alive and the Spirit

was moving in and through them likenever before.

One of the best results of the trainingwas as the team prayed for whom theyshould pass the baton to when they left,my wife, Sheilani, stepped forward andsaid the Lord had told her to be the one.Very proud of her and excited at how

the Lord worked in her during this

training.

side benefit of Woman2Woman was that a few of the men asked if it was only for women. The

eam left me the materials for Titus 2 Man and I am now studying them and plan to introduce it to

men by early November, after our Annual Pastors and Workers Conference in October which I am

eavily involved in organizing. Please pray for this.
