CD DISCSWe have decided to use a 6 pane digipak template. As we have extensively researched digipaks of the same pop genre for female artists, 6 pane digipaks have proven to be popular for deluxe editions of the album. Therefore, we have chosen to use a 6 pane template to conform to the genre characteristics and convey strong links between our artist and our genre. However, through research we have discovered that within 6 pane digipaks it is common to have 2 discs within the album, as this provides the audience and buyers with a special edition of the album for the more dedicated fans. The 2 discs usually consist of the album and a special feature usually behind the scenes of filming the music videos or exclusive music or footage. However, it is evident within other female pop vocalists 6 pane digipaks that the 2 discs are not the same design as they slightly differ but still consist of themes running throughout both of them. Therefore we are in the process of designing possible cd discs whilst bearing in mind the usually characteristics of digipaks in the pop genre.

Evidently, the 2 discs within a digipak they are usually located next to each other. Therefore, it is important we carefully design the 2 discs and make sure there is an evident theme running through them, so the audience can identify the features of Luna’s identity.

CD DESIGN 1: This design for the CD is the logo for ‘LUNA’. We believed this would be an effective design as the audience would be able to automatically identify our artist. We also feel that this colour scheme is evident throughout the rest of the digipak.

CD DESIGN 2: This design is the same as the first disc however the colours and design is reversed. Thus we have made a subtle difference but still continuing the running theme of the bright colours throughout the digipak. We also believe this would look effective next to each other.
