Fitness Center Launches Extended Hours
Cross Creek Ranch School Supply Drive
The Cross Creek Community Association along with The Risher Companies is pleased to announce the launch of our ID card access providing residents with new extended hours at the Fitness Center! The Fitness Center is now staffed for more than 68 hours per week, but with the new access system, residents can enter the Fitness Center with a valid Cross Creek Ranch ID card during non-staffed hours. The ID card is the same card used for the pool and park amenities.
Cross Creek Ranch ID cards can be provided during staffed hours at the fitness center. In order to receive one, please call ahead to schedule an appointment and bring a utility bill, driver’s license or closing papers showing your Cross Creek address, and our staff will be happy to make your new, all access ID card.
Residents can now access the fitness center at 4:30 am Monday thru Sunday. Early risers will admit themselves into the building by swiping the new ID card at the entrance door and turning on the main lights upon entering. There will be several accent lights already on to greet residents to eliminate walking into a dark fitness center. The music will be pumping, and the AC will be cooling when residents arrive at 4:30 am.
Please feel free to call 281-344-0078 or e-mail [email protected] with any questions, comments or concerns.
Foam Rolling Clinic: Attention Runners, Cyclists,
Athletes and Fitness Enthusiasts!Do you suffer from chronic pain in your joints? Have you recently acquired an injury that prevents you from participating in the sport you love? Or, are you perfectly
healthy but would like to learn more about common injuries that can occur during sports and how to prevent them?
This is the clinic for you and your family! Join us Monday, September 17th at 7 pm in the in the Fitness Center for a complimentary Injury Prevention & Maintenance Clinic.
Dr. Harrison of Airrosti Houston will host the clinic to educate residents on injury maintenance and prevention using rehabilitation techniques with foam rollers. Come ready with your questions and concerns. Mats and foam rolls will be provided.
Are Your Cells Protected?Do you eat the recommended 6-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day?
Do you take supplements?
Do you know if what you are eating or taking is being absorbed?
Antioxidants are found in many foods that we eat and many of the supplements that we take. Antioxidants are our bodies’ first line of defense against free radicals that cause cell damage. Cell damage can cause aging, sickness, cancer, and a variety of diseases. How do you know that you have enough antioxidants in your body to help protect your cells???
The Biophotonic Scanner, as featured on The Dr. Oz Show, measures your antioxidant absorption.
Please join us Wednesday, Sept. 12th at 6:30pm at the Cross Creek Ranch Community Room, to get scanned and see how protected your cells are from free radical damage.
We will discuss the importance of antioxidants and what you can do if you would like to improve your scanner score.
Scans will be $10 the night of the event.
Please reserve your seat by contacting Heather with Pharmanex at 979-541-7468.

RED-SHOULDERED HAWKSWhether wheeling over a swamp forest or whistling plaintively from a riverine park, a Red-shouldered Hawk is typically a sign of tall woods and water. It’s one of our most distinctively marked common hawks, with barred reddish-peachy underparts and a strongly banded tail. Red-shouldered Hawks are medium-sized, with broad, rounded wings and medium-length tails that they fan out when soaring. Its rising, whistled kee-rah is a distinctive sound of the forest.
One of the best ways to find Red-shouldered Hawks is to learn their distinctive whistle. Listen for these birds in and around wet forests, where you may find them hunting from a perch along stream or pond. In spring you may see Red-shouldered Hawks circling high above their nesting territory; they usually show pale crescents near their wingtips, where the sun shines through.Red-shouldered Hawk
