This exam tests a candidate's knowledge and skills related to network fundamentals, LAN switching

technologies, IPv4 and IPv6 routing technologies, WAN technologies, infrastructure services,

infrastructure security, and infrastructure management.

============================================================================

The following course is the recommended training for this exam.

STRUCTURE OF NETWORKING EXAMS:

Page 7: CCNA training 101
Page 10: CCNA training 101

• The CCENT certification requires a single step: pass the ICND1 exam. Simple enough.

• The CCNA Routing and Switching certification gives you two options, as show in Figure I-1: Pass

both the ICND1 and ICND2

• exams, or just pass the CCNA exam. (Note that there is no separate certification for passing the

ICND2 exam.)

Types of Questions on the Exams :(EXAM PATTERN)

The ICND1, ICND2, and CCNA exams all follow the same general format. At the testing center, you will sit

in a quiet room with

a PC. Before the exam timer begins, you will have a chance to do a few other tasks on the PC—for

example, you can take a

sample quiz just to get accustomed to the PC and the testing engine. Anyone who has user-level skills in

getting around a PC

should have no problems with the testing environment.

After the exam starts, the screen shows you question after question. The questions typically fall into one of

the following

categories:

• Multiple-choice (MC) single answer

• Multiple-choice (MC) multiple answer

• Testlet

• Drag-and-drop (DND)

• Simulated lab (Sim)

• Simlet

The first three items in the list are all actually multiple-choice questions.

why should join CCNA?

You can expect a hike in your designation and salary in your current company.

You can easily switch a job demanding a hike in the salary.

CCNA is recognized all over the world, thus you can easily get a job abroad.

Network

A network is a system that transmits any

combination of voice, video and/or data between

users.

IP defines datagram structures that encapsulate the data to be delivered. It

also defines addressing methods that are used to label the datagram

source and destination.

Routing is the process of selecting paths in a network along which to send

network traffic. Routing is performed for many kinds of networks, including

the telephone network (circuit switching), electronic data networks (such as

the Internet), and transportation networks
