• Limited functionality
• Key functions work
• Key “show” and “debug” commands work, but with “canned” display information
• If it says “not implemented”, then that command probably is not a command that is going to help

Practice Item #2
An application developer has an application which requires very fast packet delivery. Loss of occasional packets can be tolerated to accommodate the need for speed. Which Layer 4 protocol would be the best choice?
43
A. TCP
B. SNMP
C. FTP
D. UDP
E. CDP
© 2014 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. BRKCRT-1001 Cisco Public
Practice Item #2 Solution
D. UDP
• UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is a communications protocol that offers a limited amount of service when messages are exchanged between computers in a network that uses the Internet Protocol (IP)
• UDP does not provide the service of dividing a message into packets (datagrams) and reassembling it at the other end
• Network applications that want to save processing time will prefer UDP to TCP; the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) uses UDP instead of TCP
• In the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) communication model, UDP, like TCP, is in Layer 4, the Transport Layer

Practice Item #4 Solution
• Local or remote collisions are detected by the sender and result in resending the collided frame. A collision is the mechanism used by Ethernet to control access and allocate shared bandwidth among stations that want to transmit at the same time on a shared medium. These collisions are not bad. Instead, they are essential to correct Ethernet operation
• Late collisions are when a collision is detected by a station after it has sent the 512th bit (64 octets or bytes) of its frame. These frames are not automatically retransmitted

• Selecting too many options or not selecting enough options
• Copy run start / wr mem
• Use a time budget. / Do not spend too much time on one question
– Clock is always visible upper right hand of screen as is how many items left to answer
• Can’t go back
• If English is your second language you can inform Pearson VUE and get more time
• Command not supported or Command not implemented
• Simulations are not saved until you hit “Next”
