SAC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent your constituents’ key issues and concerns• Act as a liaison between CCJPA and the larger public

ensuring project information is distributed and input received

• Work closely with CCJPA to identify and address potential sensitivities and issues

• Meet at key milestones over the next year (up to four meetings) as a valued member of the SAC

PROJECT HISTORY

• December 11, 1991: Passenger rail service to Roseville opens– Since the opening, Placer County’s goal has been

to grow train service• 1998: Capitol Corridor Business Plan includes 4 round

trips to Auburn/10 to Roseville• 2002: Efforts formally began through initial design

project with UPRR• 2002-2011: Continuous coordination with UPRR to

initiate further studies for increased train service

PROJECT OBJECTIVES & BENEFITS

Project Objectives• Expand CCJPA service between Sacramento and

Roseville (up to 10 trains daily)• Preserve current freight operations and reliability

within the corridor

PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING & ENVIRONMENTAL STUDY

CCJPA, in partnership with UPRR, Sacramento, Roseville, PCTPA & SACOG will:

Identify/develop design elements to meet service goals

Develop track alignment/infrastructure

Prepare initial design/cost estimates

Perform environmental studies/review
