OVERVIEW
The fourth edition of Children, Baby & Maternity (CBME) India expo 2016 ( 20th – 22nd April ) hosted by UBM India at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai successfully concluded bringing together Indian and global suppliers, manufacturers of child, baby and maternity products and services, all under roof. The three day event had over 100 exhibitors and over 300 Indian and global brands. The event saw participation from world renowned brands such as J L Morrison, TOONZ Retail, Chicco, Mother Care, Piramal, Me and Moms Pvt Ltd, Little’s (India), Bonny Products, Lovi, Smitten Baby, Farlin, Gemini Lifestyle Private Ltd, Posh Baby and Kids India, R for Rabbit Baby Products Pvt Ltd, Momzjoy and Royal Brushes Ltd amongst others and representations from countries such as as China, Hong Kong, Belgium, Italy, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, USA amongst others. Highlights of the show included the Innovative Product Corner wherein CBME India recognized design excellence with the Innovative Product Award. Standing out from competitors, 12 companies were nominated for their most innovative and patented products. Winners were determined by popular votes and distinguished panel of judges. Companies from various categories such as baby care, toys, hygiene & safety products, furniture, children wear and carriages participated and displayed their innovation in the innovative product corner. The best innovative product award was presented to Jayna Packaging Pvt. Ltd., manufacturers of eco friendly and recyclable furniture for kids. The company launched its colourful range of innovative furniture and seating systems that can hold a lot of weight and can even be used by people weighing up to 200 Kilos. This year’s edition also included the launch of Cool Kids Fashion India, a first of its kind event which highlighted premium kids fashion from both well-known & emerging designers, brands and manufacturers. It was a signature affair to position India on the map of the kids fashion industry.Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, “The child, baby and maternity products industry has grown and still holds potential to grow. The growth push can be credited to rising media exposure and increasing spending powers, making parents to shell out more on such products. UBM India met its objective for the 4th edition of CBME India by offering an Indian and International showcase of such products and bringing in the business fraternity to join hands, share new ideas, and launch new products under one roof.”

CBME India 2016, introduced the �rst edition of Cool Kids Fashion (CKF) during this year’s show. Cool Kids Fashion India received an excellent response from the industry with a participation of around 22 exhibitors, majorly from the textile hubs of Tiruppur, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Cool Kid Fashion (CKF) is a dedicated apparel and fashion accessories zone where exhibitors showcased latest kids fashion trends right from western wears, knit products, designer jeans, to ethnic wears. The products were targeted towards the zero to 14 years age group segment.
Speaking about the new platform, Pankaj Shende, Portfolio Director, UBM India said, “Cool Kid Fashion is one of the latest and most innovative platforms which o�ered an opportunity to the top kids fashion brands to showcase their products and designs, network, and transact business in India. We have seen a great response from the �rst edition and we hope to see more participation in the next edition.”
Also, for the �rst time in a B2B show, CBME introduced a CKF Design Gallery; �rst of its kinds also launched CKF Trend forum. The CKF Trend forum attracted industry experts and welcomed speakers from top brands like Tommy Hil�ger; Pepe Jeans; Kidology and Being Human; the knowledge sessions were well attended.
