Emperor Qin Shi Huang unified the country, and he joined the walls together into one huge wall.

The construction of the wall began in the 3rd century A.D. and was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries. It was originally built in separate pieces to protect China from invaders.

Life-size clay figures of 7,000 solders, horses, and chariots stand in battle formation. These famous

figures were discovered by chance in 1974.

now know as the Imperial Museum.

The palace is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world.

The Palace Museum began in 1406 and ended in 1420. It took 200,000 workers and 100,000 artisans to build the Forbidden City.
