DESCRIPTION

I designed this Competency-Based Curriculum for Asian Academy of Business and Computers and it was approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. We were able to acquired Certification of Program Registration last 2009. AABC is the first to acquire Security Services NC II with emphasis on Maritime Security program offering.

COURSE DESIGN

COURSE TITLE :  NC I SECURITY SERVICES 

NOMINAL DURATION  :  170 Hrs.

COURSE DESCRIPTION  : This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and  attitudes of a licensed security personnel in the field of security servicing in accordance with existing laws (RA 5487 as amended,   Implementing  Rules  and  Regulations,  Presidential  Decrees, and SAGSD, CSG, PNP Memoranda).  It also covers performing control system in the workplace, basic communication skills, responding to emergency situation, demonstrating marksmanship and performing defensive techniques.

SUMMARY OF LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Upon completion of the course, the trainees/students must be able to:

1. Check persons entering and leaving the premises2. Check vehicle entering and leaving the premises 3. Check properties entering and leaving the premises 4. Check barriers5. Prepare written reports6. Transmit reports 7. Demonstrate and interpret hand signals8. Maintain logbook recordings9. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:Trainees or students should posses the following requirements:

• Filipino citizen;• High School Graduate;• Physically and mentally fit;• Not less than eighteen (18) years of age nor more than fifty (50) years of 

age (for new applicants and SGs in non­supervisory position; and• Has undergone a pre­licensing training course or its equivalent

MODULE TITLE Performing defensive techniques

MODULE PURPOSE This  module covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes in performing defensive techniques.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

 Upon completion of the module, the trainees/students should be able to:

LO 1. Demonstrate disarming techniques

LO 2. Demonstrate use of baton

LO 3.  Demonstrate use of handcuff

LO 4. Demonstrate the use of stunning devices

LO 1.   DEMONSTRATE DISARMING TECHNIQUES

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

1. Martial arts safety equipment is prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures

2. Preparatory exercises are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures

3. Disarming techniques are demonstrated in accordance with standard operating procedures

4. Martial arts equipment and personal safety equipment are stored in accordance with standard operating procedures

CONTENTS:   

• Defensive Tactics (Armed and Unarmed)• Principles and Practices of Martial Arts• Proper Use of Martial Arts Equipment

CONDITION:  Students/trainees must be provided with the following:

• Martial Arts Safety Equipment• Manual on Martial Arts• Security Guard Manual

LO 2. DEMONSTRATE USE OF BATON

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

1. Martial arts safety equipment is prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures

2. Preparatory exercises are performed in accordance with “Arnis” technique3. Use of baton is demonstrated using the “Arnis” technique4. Martial arts equipment and personal safety equipment are stored in accordance with 

standard operating procedures

CONTENTS:  

• Principles and Practices of “Arnis”• 12 Method of Stick Defense (Dose Pares)• Proper Use of Martial Arts Equipment for “Arnis”

CONDITION: Students/trainees must be provided with the following:

• Martial Arts Safety Equipment• Manual on Martial Arts• Security Guard Manual• Training Aids (e.g. Video, pictures, charts, etc.)• pieces standard stick (Rattan)

METHODOLOGIES:

• Lecture• Group Discussion • Demonstration

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:

1. Martial Arts Safety equipment is prepared in accordance with standard operating procedures.

2. Preparatory exercises are performed in accordance with handcuffing techniques.3. Handcuff is used in accordance with law enforcement standards.4. Martial Arts Safety equipment are stored in accordance with standard operating 

procedures.

CONTENTS:  

• Principles and Practices of Handcuffing• Use of Handcuff in Arrest• Defensive Techniques in Handcuffing• Proper Use of Martial Arts Safety Equipment 

CONDITION: Students/trainees must be provided with the following:

• Martial Arts Safety Equipment• Handcuffs• Manual on Martial Arts• Security Guard Manual• Training Aids (e.g. Video, pictures, charts, etc.)

3. Stun devises are used in accordance with product specification.4. Martial arts safety equipment is stored in accordance with standard operating 

procedures.

CONTENTS:  

• Use of Stunning Devices/Stun Gun• Defensive Techniques in the Use of Stunning Device• Proper Use of Martial Arts Safety Equipment

CONDITION: Students/trainees must be provided with the following:

• Martial Arts Safety Equipment• Stun Gun (KV)• Manual on the Use of Stun Gun• Security Guard Manual• Training Aids (e.g. Video, pictures, charts, etc.)

METHODOLOGIES:  

• Lecture/Discussion• Demonstration• Practical Exercises

ASSESSMENT METHODS:

• Written Examination• Demonstration• Observation
