cbc introduction

CBC, China Building Centre, is a resource integration service platform

for the urban development sector in China. It is dedicated to uplifting the

quality of Chinese built environment by proactively communicating best-in-

industry expertise and initiating dialogues across different segments of the

urban development sector and different cultures.

As China's first non-governmental platform for urban development sector,

CBC is founded in 2012 and affiliated to China Architectural Culture Center,

an organization under the MoHURD (Ministry of Housing, Urban and

Rural Development). CBC stems from UED (Urban Environment Design)

magazine, one of the most recognized professional architecture media in

China with 10 years of history.

CBC has 4 pillars: CBC Think Tank, CBC Academy, CBC

Projects and CBC Media.

CBC Think Tank gathers the smartest minds from the

urban development sector in China and abroad to provide

advisory to the most challenging urban development

projects in China.

CBC Academy includes CBC Research Institute and

In July 2013, UED magazine organized the launch of its 73th issue featuring gmp. In August

Designing in Dialogue: the Architecture of von Gerkan, Marg and Partners was published

by the CBC Press.

On August 8th, 2013, gmp exhibition opened in the National Museum of China, with

accompanying events of Mr. von Gerkan’s lecture and an academic dialogue between

gmp lead architects and Chinese architects and scholars from Architectural Design and

Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Architecture Design & Research

Group (CAG), several Chinese architectural schools from top universities and reputed firms.

Another gmp exhibition was held in Southeast University, Nanjing on Oct. 14th, 2014.

All the events mentioned are organized by the UED magazine.

In July 2013, UED magazine organized the launch of its 72th issue featuring Steven Holl

and his projects.
