CAUSTIC SODA VS BIO-ENZYME
Commonly used for metal removal and pH adjustment in industrial wastewater treatment / for high acidity wastewaters.
Use of bacteria to degrade and decompose organic materials during treatment and used not only in industrial wastewater but in municipal or residential treatment as well.

Traditional approach to water treatment, which addresses the symptoms of the failure of the water treatment approach, but doesn't address the root causes.
Radical approach that targets the root cause of problems.

Hazardous, strongly corrosive and requires
a lot of safety measures for safe handling
and storage.
1. The potential health effects of caustic soda are:
(a) Skin contact - Contact can cause pain, redness,
burns, and blistering. Permanent scarring can result.
Severe exposure can cause death. Burns may not be
immediately painful; onset of pain may be delayed
minutes to hours.
Safe to humans and the environment.

(b) Eye contact - Contact causes severe burns with
redness, swelling, pain and blurred vision. Permanent
damage including blindness can result.
(c) Ingestion - Can burn the lips, tongue, throat and
stomach. Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting,
stomach cramps and diarrhea. Can cause death.

(d) Inhalation of caustic soda dust or mist causes
various degrees of injury in the respiratory tract.
- Difficulty in breathing
- Lung inflammation
- Sneezing
2. It reacts violently with many chemicals,
including, water, organic acids, inorganic acids,
oxidizing agents and metals. Corrosive to
aluminum alloys, carbon steel and other metals.
Contact with water causes violent frothing and
spattering. Reacts with metals to produce highly
flammable hydrogen gas. Closed containers may
rupture violently when heated releasing contents.
Toxic sodium oxide fumes can be generated at
high temperatures.

3. It is a very strong base and considered as a
contaminant if disposed in the water. Fatal to
aquatic organisms and fish if the pH of natural
water-bodies is higher than pH8.
4. Large discharges may contribute to increased alkalinity in effluent treatment systems and injure sewage treatment organisms.

Natural remedies are very effective at recycling
or reducing the nutrient load in the wastewater,
obtaining results that are superior to many
traditional remedies. It returns the cleansed
water close to its source of origin, keeping the
water within the watershed.
Natural remedies are naturally occurring
biological processes that do not harm the
environment or consume large amounts of
energy. They minimize, if not totally eliminate,
the use of chemicals.
Natural remedies are simple, cost-effective and
efficient methods to purify the growing amount
of wastewater produced by our society.
“Let us make it our goal to protect and enhance our
environment, because nature is too fragile and too
important to ignore.”
Why growing economies are
adopting greener technologies?
Why environment organizations are pushing
for natural remedies to treat wastewater?
Various countries, industries and organizationsare recognizing the need for adopting greenertechnologies, because of the fast depletion of ournatural resources. This is the only way to sustainour current and future needs, and at the sametime, let our environment heal.
Green technology is a true pursuit for betterproducts and a better environment. It provides thebest combination of effectiveness andenvironmental friendliness. Its innovativepractices can bring positive changes in our dailylives, which practices involve fulfilling the needsof the society without causing depletion of theavailable natural resources and preserving it forfuture use.
