Stamp Act of 1765 After the French and Indian War(Seven Years War) the
British were deeply in debt. King George III thought since the British protected the colonies that they should pay taxes. Following many other acts, the Stamp Act put a tax on things like stamps,newspapers,etc.
British Presence After the French and Indian War, the British sent
many troops to protect the colonies from a French or Native American attack. This would lead into other problems between the colonies and the crown.
Quartering Act of 1765 The Quartering Act simply stated that if confronted a
colonist HAD TO house, feed, and clothe British Soldiers in the colonies. This only made things worse between the colonies and the crown.
The Tea Act of 1773 The Tea Act is very closely related to the Stamp Act. It
put a tax on tea. This would lead into other rebellious acts by the colonies such as… The Boston Tea Party, and the forming of the Daughters of Liberty who made their own tea to boycott British goods.
The Boston Massacre The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5th, 1770…
There was a crowd of colonist throwing snow, and rocks at British soldiers. The British soldiers fired at the crowd and killed a Crispus Attucks. He is considered the first African American to die in The American Revolution.
