EXT. ALLY WAY. GOTHAM CITY. NIGHT
A woman wearing a loose fitting, store bought CATWOMAN
COSTUME cuts through an ally way on her way to a party. She
looks nervous, and moves swiftly despite being unstable on
heels.
The WOMAN hears a second pair of foot steps and begins
searching the shadows.
WOMAN
H-hello? Is somebody there?
The WOMAN does not receive and answer and continues her walk
at a faster pace.
The second pair of foot steps appear again.
WOMAN
Who’s there? What do you want?
DEADSHOT appears behind her in the ally.
DEADSHOT
Oh you don’t have to do anything my
dear, just scream.
DEADSHOT pulls a PISTOL from his holster and holds it in
front of the WOMAN, Revelling in the WOMAN’S horror.
WOMAN
N-no, don’t! I’ll do anything!
DEADSHOT
I’m sure you would, but I need you
for something, something important.
WOMAN
No...
DEADSHOT
Oh don’t worry, it’ll only hurt for
a little while.
DEADSHOT raises his PISTOL to strike the WOMAN.
A loud crack from a WHIP sounds in the ally and DEADSHOT
drops his PISTOL to the ground.
The WOMAN stumbles backwards and falls to the ground in
fear.

DEADSHOT clutches his wounded hand and turns to face his
attacker. CATWOMAN is standing on top of a DUMPSTER coiling
up her WHIP.
CATWOMAN
That’s gonna sting like hell till
morning.
DEADSHOT looks happy to see CATWOMAN.
DEADSHOT
Well... I didn’t get to have my fun
but I did find what I was after.
CATWOMAN
Happy to help. What’re you doing in
Gotham Deadshot?
DEADSHOT
I’m here for you, you’ve been a bad
kitty.
CATWOMAN
I’m a bad girl, you might have to
narrow that down for me.
DEADSHOT
Well, since you came back out of
retirement you’ve been busy, you’ve
stolen from some serious players in
town, Maroni, Black mask, Mistress
Talia. They are people you don’t
cross, no matter how many lives you
have.
DEADSHOT quickly raises his good arm out towards CATWOMAN, a
small calibre PISTOL slides from out of his coat sleeve and
fires, clipping CATWOMAN on the arm.
CATWOMAN drops to one knee and clutches her wounded arm.
CATWOMAN
Gah! Ha, thought you were the best
gun for hire, you never missed?
DEADSHOT
I didn’t miss, that was a warning
shot.
CATWOMAN
Okay, you got my attention, let my
stylish friend leave and we can
talk.

DEADSHOT looks over his shoulder at the cowering WOMAN and
considers it for a moment.
DEADSHOT
Alright. run.
The frightened WOMAN shuffles backwards before rolling over
and pushing herself up onto her feet. She quickly trots down
the ally.
DEADSHOT turns and shoots the WOMAN in the back. She
crumples to the ground with a dull thud.
CATWOMAN
Why? she was just a kid.
DEADSHOT
To prove to you I’m serious.
CATWOMAN
You’re a coward!
DEADSHOT
I’d show my claws if I had a Batman
watching my back too, shame he
isn’t hear though. He’s busy right
now.
CATWOMAN
What?
DEADSHOT
Seems there was a break out at
Arkham. Its amazing how easily clay
fits though bars. And that’s just
round one.
DEADSHOT picks up his PISTOL and check it.
DEADSHOT (cont’d)
Now, you and I are going to play a
little game, its a game I know you
like, you’ve been playing it with
my employers for months. Its called
cat and mouse, although this time
I’m afraid you’re the mouse.
CATWOMAN
You want me to run?
DEADSHOT moves closer to the injured CATWOMAN.
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (4) 4.
DEADSHOT
No I need you to run. I told
Mistress Talia that I’d do this my
way, the fun way, I’m not some
Mafia thug. I’m an artiste! I’ll
finish you with a million to one
shot, literally.
CATWOMAN
You’re twisted. And you’re going to
pay for this.
DEADSHOT
I’m not twisted, I’m gifted. I’m
the man you call when you need to
send a message.
CATWOMAN notices something in the shadows of the ally and
smiles.
CATWOMAN
You’re not the only one with a
message.
A BATARANG flies out of the shadows and knocks the PISTOL
form DEADSHOT’S hand.
DEADSHOT
Arrrgh!
ROBIN drops down in front of DEADSHOT and knocks him to the
ground using his BO STAFF.
CATWOMAN
Thanks for the help.
BATMAN
Any time.
ROBIN clasps BATCUFFS on DEADSHOT and pulls him to his feet.
BATMAN emerges from the shadows and walks towards CATWOMAN.
CATWOMAN
I guess you sorted out your Arkham
problem.
BATMAN
Its hard to miss a seven foot pile
of clay.
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: (5) 5.
DEADSHOT
How? you were supposed to be busy
for hours!
ROBIN
You were sloppy. As are you.
ROBIN turns to CATWOMAN.
ROBIN
How you have escaped jail is beyond
me, your skills are laughable.
ROBIN drags DEADSHOT away from the others, out onto the
street.
CATWOMAN
Just like his mother that one.
BATMAN
He’s okay, you need patching up?
CATWOMAN
Just a scratch, how’d you find me?
BATMAN helps CATWOMAN down off of the DUMPSTER.
BATMAN
Word on the grape vine is you’re
making a lot of enemies Selina, we
just followed the gun shots.
BATMAN turns and heads after ROBIN.
BATMAN (cont’d)
You know where to find us, should
you need us.
CATWOMAN
Thanks, he’d be proud of you for
what your doing.
BATMAN stops and looks over his shoulder back towards
CATWOMAN.
BATMAN
Well someone has to, its a lot
harder than it looks, its not all
roof top romances y’know.
CATWOMAN enjoys the joke and smiles in return.
Once CATWOMAN is alone she hops up onto a fire escape and
disappears into the night.
