A Cats Inside• Cats have 7 cervical vertebrae ,13 thoracic vertebrae, 7 lumbar vertebrae ,
3 sacral vertebrae ,and, 22 or 23 caudal vertebrae in the tail . The extra lumbar and thoracic vertebrae makes the cat's flexibility better than a human. The caudal vertebrae makes the tail, which is used by the cat for balance to the body during quick movements. Cats also have free-floating clavicle bones, which means that they can pass their body through any space if they can fit their head.
• The cat skull is unusual among mammals in having very large eye sockets and a powerful jaw. Within the jaw, cats have teeth for killing prey and tearing meat. The premolar and first molar together compose the carnassial pair on each side of the mouth, which efficiently shears meat into small pieces, like scissors.
What Cats Eat• Cats feed on prey such as insects, birds, and rodents. • Although cats can be selective eaters, they generally cannot tolerate lack
of food for more than 36 hours without risking liver damage.• Despite this, adult cats can adapt to being fed once a day.• Cats select food based on its temperature, smell and texture, disliking
cold foods and responding most strongly to foods rich in amino acids.
Cats may reject novel flavors and learn quickly to avoid foods that have tasted unpleasant in the past. They may also avoid sugary foods and milk, because these sugars are not easily digested and may cause soft stools or diarrhea. Cats have a fondness for catnip. Many enjoy consuming catnip, and most will often roll in it, paw at it, and sometimes chew on it. Cats can also develop odd eating habits. Some cats like to eat or chew on plastic, paper, string, wool, or coal. It is not good for them.
Cat Fights• When engaged in a cat fight for self-defense, territory, their babies,
or dominance, cats make themselves appear more impressive and threatening by raising their fur and arching their backs, this increasing their regular size. Cats also behave this way while playing.
• Attacks usually comprise powerful scratches to the face and body with the forepaws as well as bites, but serious damage is rare; usually the loser runs away with few scratches to the face, and maybe the ears. Cats will also throw themselves to the ground in a and use their powerful hind legs.
• Male usually have fights during their lives, and often have battered faces with scars and cuts to the ears and nose. Males are not the only ones who fight, females will also fight over territory or to defend their kittens.
Cats In Trees
• Most breeds of cat have a fondness for settling in high places and perching. Cats in trees give the cat a better observation point, allowing it to survey its territory and become aware of activities of people and other pets in the area.
• In the wild, a higher place may serve as a concealed site from which to hunt; domestic cats such as lions, are known to strike prey by pouncing from a tree branch, as does a .Height, therefore, can also give cats a sense of security.

Kinds Of Cats
• Bicolor, Tuxedo, and Van=mostly black with a white chest, and possibly markings on the face and paws/legs.

Feral Cats
• Feral cats are wild cats that are unfamiliar with humans and roam freely in urban or rural areas.
• The numbers of these are not known, but estimates of the US feral population are from 25 to 60 million.
• They are often killed by dogs and automobiles.• There are volunteers and organizations that trap
these unadoptable feral felines and make them adoptable.
Playing With Cats
• Young kittens are known for their love of play. Cats will also engage in play fighting, with each other and with humans.
• This behavior may be a way for cats to practice the skills needed for real fights and they will launching attacks on other animals.
• Many cats cannot resist a dangling piece of string, or a piece of rope drawn across the floor.
• Cats also like balls of yarn.
