Teaching Accomplishments:
Taught sections of EDUC/COUN 6326 and EDUC/COUN 6327, with strong student evaluations overall.
Developed and piloted a new 7-week online version of COUN 6326. Substantially revised course shell for EDUC/COUN 6326 for Spring 2016
roll-out. Developed general plagiarism and APA modules for all Blackboard courses. Developed advanced thesis elective courses (to be offered pending Graduate
Council approval).
Scholarship Accomplishments:
Peer-reviwed publication: Goetz, J. E., & Barber, C. R. (2015). Evaluating a pre-session homework exercise in a standalone information literacy class. Communications in Information Literacy, 9(2).
Peer-reviewed publication (student co-authored): Allen, K., & Barber, C. R. (2015). Examining the use of play activities to increase appropriate classroom behaviors. International Journal of Play Therapy, 24, 1-12.
Completed second program evaluation for UST School of Nursing. Contributed to CAEP/TEAC accreditation by assisting with data analysis. Submitted session for the Organizational Behavior Teaching Conference,
under review. Began work on dataset for cross-cultural study of teachers’ personality and
values.

Contributed to the development of the Ed.D. program (chair, Benchmarks Subcommittee).
Conducted Research Program outcomes assessment for 2014-2015. Continued work on the Human Subjects Committee. Continued serving as Senator for the School of Education. Continued serving as Freshman Symposium planning committee member. Finalized work on the Faculty Senate Task Force on FMLA (formerly
Parental Leave Policy); task force’s recommendations were adopted by the University.
Continued serving on the Faculty Senate Social Committee. Continued as the faculty advisor to Best Buddies. Assisted new Research Program Director with program tasks as assigned. Served on the School of Education Dean Search Committee.

Continue to receive high ratings in research courses. Develop and teach research course for Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Program students (Summer, 2016). Implement synchronous learning activities in research courses (Fall, 2016). Submit application for Blackboard Catalyst recognition.
Scholarship Goals:
Social networks and student engagement in online courses: New research collaboration with Dr. Sunny Zhang in the Cameron School of Business.
Developing scholar-practitioners of action research: New research collaboration with Dr. Janet McCollum in the School of Education and Human Services. Includes research on the process of our program’s curriculum revision and on various pedagogical strategies used in the research program.
Case studies in special education: A social justice perspective: Book proposal to be co-edited with Dr. Tera Torres in the School of Education and Human Services.
Publish revised manuscript on expressive writing and forgiveness with veterans.
Service Goals:
Continue contributing to the development of doctoral program dissertation benchmarks.
Continue work on the Human Subjects Committee.
