case study | FARNSWORTH HOUSE
mies van der rohe PIANO, IL
In this case study of the Farnsworth House by Mies Van Der Rohe our objective was to learn the Autodesk program Rhino. It was beneficial to make the a 3D model in Rhino for the first time of the Farnsworth House, because it is a very simple structure, so we were able to concentrate on learning the building.

case study | LINDNER CENTER
bernard tschumi architects CINCINNATI, OH
This was a study of various buildings on UC’s Campus, and the building I researched was Bernard Tschumi Architects’ Lindner Athletic Center. This is an insteresting building that was designed in the residual space left in between the Campus Recreation Center, Nippert Stadium, various others which is apparent in the form of the building.

design | BRD | conceptual skyscraper
designed in collaboration with Katie Wittes and Micah Washington
In this project, we worked as a team of three to design a conceptual skyscraper. After coming up with our concept of a bird in flight, we used the program Maya to bring our drawings to a 3D form.
After creating our skyscraper in Maya, we used the CNC machine to laser cut the pieces of our model to create the chipboard model shown.

design | ORIEL REFLECTIONS | residential loft
adaptive reuse of McAlpin Department Store CINCINNATI, OH
In the old McAlpin building in downtown Cincinnati, they have renovated spaces within the buildings on both sides of our space, and structural limits left them with a long and narrow galley-type space that they have had struggles filling with anything so it sits bare.
On the street side facade of the building there are historical oriel windows that can not be altered in any way per historical pres-ervation standards. Instead of seeing this as a limitation, I took this aspect of the space and used the shape of the oriel windows as inspiration for many design desicions in the loft.
At the presentation of this project I was awarded by the developers of the McAlpin Lofts and Mayor Mark Mallory:

design | MICHELOB ULTRA | corporate office
adaptive reuse of Conibear Shellhouse SEATTLE, WA
This design is an adaptive reuse of an existing building in Washington called the Conibear Shellhouse for the Washington University Rowing team. I redesigned this space as a corporate office for Michelob Ultra, with the concept of Living Life to the Ultra.

design | SIMPLEH BLISS | eco honeymoon resort
LEH LADAKH, INDIA
Given the site of Leh Ladakh, India, the requirement of being as off-grid as possible comes as no suprise. The concept of my ecoresort was to make an alternative honeymoon for couples that are looking to be a bit adventurous with their travel plans as well as learn about another culture.
The architecture in the resort is meant to bring people closer together - to slow down and enjoy each other’s company with nothing but nature to distract you.

design | MUSIC INK | venue, restaurant, & school
adaptive reuse of first german reformed church CINCINNATI, OH
The First German Reformed Church was abandoned and later adopted by some young musicians wanting to make a difference in young inner city children’s lives. They wanted to turn the church into a music venue in which the profits generated were able to run a music school for inner city children of Cincinnati.
This project was interesting in the fact that we were given freedom on the spaces we chose to do, as groups. Our group decided that we wanted to do all the spaces, but in order to do that we would need to work together.
