INDUSTRUAL PREMISES IN LVIV

Naftomaslozavod, Oil Derivatives Refinery 1896: Foundation Date

1994: State-owned enterprise changes its legal form to a joint-stock company.

2009: The plant is closed. Naftomaslozavod used to be the only enter-prise in Ukraine specializing in oil refining and the distribution of base components for the production of high-quality cutting equipment lubri-cants, hydraulic lubricants for metal processing, and gearbox oil.

LORTA State-owned Enterprise The entreprise produced and repaired the landing gears for “Yak” aircraft and constructed radio electronic equipment for the Air Force. The company was involved in the Soviet Union Aerospace Program. The subsidiary is known as the stereo amplifiers factory operating under the brand name “Amfiton“.

From 1963 to 1977 the annual production growth was 30% .

Lvivprylad, Joint-Stock EntrepriseSince 1950, the entreprise has been specializing in the production of electronic test equipment for the aviation industry, the devices for the measuring temperature, and the meters for measuring the consumption of different types of liquids and gas. Since 1972, the company has been producing automatic controlled systems for gas pumping units at compressor stations.

By the early 1990s, the entreprise manufactured up to 120,000 devices annually.

Bus Plant1988: produced 14 646 buses.

2008: The plant was included in the “GuinnessWorldRecords” as the world record-holder on the number of buses produced, total number of which in 2008 was 365 000.

Industry in Ukraine actively developed during the postwar period. There were 137 major enterprises manufacturing a wide range of goods, including buses and forklift trucks, TV sets and other electronic devices, automated lathes, electric bulbs, and many other products.

Together with the traditional food and textile sectors, machine and device engineering, radio electronics and other industries contributed substantially to a growing local economy. These indus-tries accounted for almost three-quarters of the industrial output of the city and resulted in exports to over 54 countries.

KineskopBefore the war, the company was known as the “Lamp factory”. Begin-ning in1954, the “Kineskop” (kinescope) electrovacuum factory produced the first experimental television tubes. Since 1964, it started the indus-trial production of kinescopes.

PolaronThis plant produces generator tubes for radars. Beginning in 1968, the plant produced gas lasers. Later, it began to produce vacuum circuit breakers for switching electrical networks.

ElectronIn 1955, a monitoring instrumentation factory was established after the merger of two companies: Kontakt and Volodymyr. In 1957, the company started the production of television equipment.

The company also was producing television systems of missiles self-homing and “Ariston” video projectors with a coverage area of 50 sqm. It exported its “Electron P-260” color TV sets to Western Europe. Before Ukraine declared its independence, the company had produced more than 1.2 mln TVs.

Avtonavantazhuvach, Forklift PlantTill 1950, 10 000 trucks had been produced.

In the 1970s, the plant monopolized the production of heavy automatic forklifts in the Eastern Bloc states.

The annual production increased to 20 000 trucks per year.

Plant of Telegraph EquipmentThis plant produces tone and high frequency carrier telegraphy, facsimile equipment (since 1957), and the music players “Phoenix”.

From 1950 to 1958, the number of telegraphs in the USSR increased up to 140% and facsimile telegraphs increased up to 200%.

From 1961 to 1990, production increased annually. The new director, M. Voronenko, introduced a new system of work with zero wastage.

The number of employees increased to 11 000.

In an effort to restore the industrial potential of the city, the Lviv City Council urges potential investors to become acquainted with the existing production, warehouse, and office buildings for new or expanded production.
