Based in Kampala, Uganda, East Africa; we are continuing to expand our product lines of innovative apparel and accessories, using ‘Kitenge’ print fabric, soft linings, safe buttons and other fittings. We employ local tailors and also train young people in the skills required for production such as pattern drafting and fabric cutting, tailoring, packaging and marketing; to provide both high-quality goods and well-paid employment. We have partnered with an organisation called “The Remnant Generation” which is an NGO that assists teenage mothers to find employment to support themselves and we are now providing ongoing training which will enable them to become part of our growing business.

Each product is carefully inspected before individual packaging to ensure great internal quality control standards. We also manufacture colour coordinated bespoke accessories to match each item of clothing.

Matching tops and shorts for girls. Several styles and a variety of colours made using Tanzanian cotton, kitenge fabric designs to the highest standards. Sizes from 6 months to 7 years old.

Bright, playful colours, easy to fit designs. Each of these lovely sundresses for girls comes with a matching headband. There are various colours and styles to choose from. Sizes from 3 months to 10 years of age


Matching shirts and shorts for boys. African themed using Tanzanian cotton, kitenge fabric trims finished to the highest standards. Sizes from 6 months to 7 years old.

Extra warm, soft and comfortable. Bright and colourful with an African kitenge fabric outer layer and a warm, soft, & comfortable lining. They come with a zipper and drawstring (fitted with safety stoppers) to ensure a snug fit.

High-quality, hand-made, comfortable cotton t-shirts. In a variety of designs and colours. These are not mass produced, screen printed items – each one is individually made. The designs and trim are carefully stitched on and each t-shirt checked for quality control before packaging. Sizes from 1 to 5 years old.


To compliment SAWE Baby Wear clothing we have a comprehensive range of accessories with a distinctly African touch. Comfortable, colourful, warm and stylish - for all ages up to 7 years old.

The bibs are easy to tie, super absorbent, good length and with a waterproof backing. Easy to wash and dry. The top material is soft enough to wipe little mouths.

The booties are handcrafted, warm and comfortable, with a soft inner lining over a warm sponge layer and a durable fabric sole. They keep little feet well insulated and protected at all times. Easy to fit with strong Velcro straps and easy to wash. The booties come in open or closed toe styles and colours to suit boys or girls. Sizes from 3 to 12 months.


Stylish sun-hats with a wide brim to protect your child from the sun. Available in a variety of colours. Sizes from 6 months to 5 years.

These easy to tie hair bands (a matching headband is included with each dress) can also be purchased separately in the size and colour of your choice. Sizes from 3 months to 5 years.


Attractive and functional kitenge fabric bags with a strong zip and carry handles plus 2 side pockets to keep everything secure. Includes a waterproof changing mat.

Or can you can download our Order Form, update with the items that you want, save it and send it by Email to us. The Order Form shows sizes and the total cost in Ugandan Shillings. It also provides an approximate cost per item in US dollars, Kenyan Shillings, Euros, GB Pounds, Tanzanian Shillings and Rwanda Francs. We can also give prices in other currencies. We calculate the total cost inclusive of shipping and send you a quote by reply email.
