Neema Crafts is a not-for-profi t organisation which helps to train, employ and empower over 100 people with disabilities in Iringa, Tanzania. The charity was started by the Diocese of Ruaha in 2003 with just a handful of deaf artisans making paper. Since then, it has grown rapidly and now has 8 workshops making a variety of beautiful crafts, an award winning cafe, a conference centre, and a welcoming guest-house.

People with disabilities in Tanzania are amongst the poorest of the poor, as they are often excluded from education and employment opportunities, due to the stigma attached to having a disability.

At Neema, we believe that every individual has value and ability and we aim to exhibit this through the high quality crafts we produce and the excellent services we provide.
