1. The following hints will help you to use suspension fork pumps optimally while increasing their lifetime.

2. The hints apply to suspension fork pumps as well as to air shocks. Please do not screw the pump hose onto the valve as far as it will go. Otherwise, the pump gasket might be damaged.

3. While fixing the hose, please observe the pump’s pressure gauge. Screw the hose onto the valve until some pressure is indicated (plus max. another ¼ to ½ turn).

4. Demounting the pump always causes slight pressure loss. By using our hints above, pressure loss will remain as low as 5 %. Thus, please add these 5 % to your individual pressure value desired for optimal performance.

Your UMF bike is guaranteed by the manufacturer for two years against rupture of all aluminium and steel frames (as of date of purchase by the initial buyer).In a guarantee-activating event UMF reserve themselves the right to provide a bike of the current successor model in an available colour, or, if no such bike is available, a higher grade model.

Your direct contact in any case is your UMF dealer, who will be pleased to answer your inquiries. The manufacturer’s guarantee only applies to claims made by the initial buyer who must present the purchase receipt, the delivery receipt and the bike card with date of purchase, dealer address, model and frame number. Guarantee claims will only be accepted, if the bicycle has been used for non other than its intended purpose, had an inspection during its first 5 to 15 hours of riding or six weeks after purchase, if it has been fitted with none other than original spare parts or accessories and if the suspension systems have been serviced by an UMF dealer once a year at least.

The guarantee does not cover labour and transport costs, nor does it cover follow-up costs resulting from defects. In the case of bike models with the respective sticker, the guarantee does not apply, if these bikes have been used in competition, for jumping or have been subjected to any other kind of overstress. Please also see chapter “Before your first ride”. It does not cover damage resulting from wear, neglect (insufficient care and maintenance), accidents, overstress caused by overloading, incorrect mounting or improper treatment or damage resulting from changes to the bike (e.g. mounting or alteration of additional components).

Diligent compliance with the manufacturers’ mounting instructions and the prescribed maintenance intervals is crucial to a long service life and good durability of the bicycle’s components. Failure to observe the mounting instructions or maintenance intervals renders the guarantee null and void. Please observe the tests described in this manual as well as all instructions concerning the regular replacement of safetyrelevant components, such as the handlebars etc. In case of any inquiries, please contact your national distributor; visit www.umf-bikes.com to find his address.
