Sobre Nosotros

Tomcas Work and Safety Shoes, Corp., fue establecido en 1987. Ofrecemos servicios de venta y entrega de calzado de seguridad y de trabajo para damas y caballeros. Además, tenemos disponibles otros equipos de seguridad tales como capacetes, capas protectoras, gafas, guantes, chalecos reflectivos, etc. Estamos ubicados en la Avenida Iturregui, en Carolina y en Caguas Urb. Bairoa. Tomcas en Carolina con fácil acceso por vías principales como el expreso Baldorioty de Castro y la Ave. Jesús T. Piñero y Tomcas Caguas en la Marginal Angora, Carretera Núm. 1. Contamos además con dos unidades móviles (estilo tienda) para demostración, ventas y entregas y dos unidades móviles de menor tamaño para entregas especiales o de ordenes por pequeñas cantidades. El horario de servicio en ambas tiendas es de lunes a viernes de 8:30am a 5:00pm y en Carolina también atendemos los sábados de 9:00am a 2:00pm. Poseemos la certificación de empresa minoritaria provista por el Puerto Rico Minority Supplier and Development Council y fuimos galardonados por el SBA con el 2011 Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year Award para la región de PR y US Virgin Island.

Nuestros Servicios

Nuestros productos son de alta calidad y los precios son altamente competitivos, pero es nuestro servicio y garantía el que nos distingue de los competidores. En Tomcas nos esmeramos por brindarles a nuestros clientes un servicio excelencia basado en flexibilidad, honestidad y confiabilidad, ofreciendo servicios de entregas a cualquier punto de la Isla. Las visitas en los camiones requieren un mínimo de 15 pares en área metropolitana y 25 pares en área no metropolitana, estar en ruta mensual o un cargo adicional de $75.00 dólares área metropolitana e isla depende el área geográfica. Los horarios de entrega son de 8:30am a 5:00pm, en caso de necesitar una entrega fuera de horario puede coordinarse con anticipación con un cargo fijo de $150.00 y mínimo de pares requerido. Nuestras visitas a los clientes nos permiten ver de cerca las condiciones de trabajo y así poder hacer recomendaciones sobre el calzado adecuado, de manera que el usuario obtenga un mejor rendimiento por su dinero y una mayor satisfacción para todas las partes. Para facilitar la coordinación con nuestros clientes, establecemos un calendario de visitas (de acuerdo a las necesidades de cada cliente) y horarios que son anunciados con anticipación. Incluimos una facturación detallada que facilita la distribución de los costos entre los departamentos. A la vez se genera un reporte en Excel que se envía mensualmente por correo electrónico que incluye los nombres de los empleados que han recibido zapatos, el número de empleado, área de trabajo, modelo y tamaño seleccionado, fecha, entre otros detalles que pueden ser modificados según la

necesidad de la compañía que compra. Este reporte facilita identificar que empleados reemplazan los calzados con frecuencia y si existe un área de trabajo en que el consumo sea mayor.

Poseemos una gran variedad de calzado de seguridad con alrededor de 200 estilos entre más de 20 de las principales líneas entre ellas Timberland PRO, Rockport, Carolina Shoes, Wolverine, Reebook, Skechers, Puma, Florsheim, Keen, Thorogood, Mellow Walk, Iron Age, Carthartt, Propet, Merrell, entre otras. Además, todos nuestros estilos cumplen o exceden los más altos estándares establecidos por la Oficina de Seguridad y Salud en el Empleo (OSHA por sus siglas en ingles).

Nuestros clientes incluyen empresas privadas y públicas como: farmacéuticas, equipo médico, distribución, carga terrestre y marítima, gobierno, utilidades, entre otras. Entre nuestros clientes se destacan Amgen, Lilly del Caribe, AstraZeneca, Mylan, Novartis, , Abbott, FedEx, Universidad de Puerto Rico, ConWaste, Mapfre, entre otros.

Garantía y términos de pago

Los calzados de seguridad entregados tendrán treinta días (30) de garantía por defectos de manufactura desde la fecha de entrega. La garantía aplica por defectos de manufactura, no por exceso de uso, desgastes, mal uso, accidentes, descuido del empleado o molestias luego de utilizados. Para cambios por garantía por defectos de manufactura los zapatos tendrán que estar limpios y los mismos se podrán hacer en nuestro almacén. La garantía puede ser el arreglo o reemplazo según sea el caso. Para cambios por tamaños los zapatos deberán estar sin usar (Ni una hora ni un ratito). Recomendamos que se prueben los mismos en una superficie limpia. Cambios aceptados hasta 30 días calendarios luego de entregados con copia de factura. Bajo ningún concepto TOMCAS aceptará la devolución de zapatos usados. Del zapato seleccionado por la compañía o empleado no estar disponible se le enviaría a buscar sin costo adicional y se entregaría en una próxima visita. Se sugiere a la compañía y sus empleados que elijan un calzado de acuerdo a la labor que realiza. No se honra garantía por exceso de uso o desgaste. De haber una diferencia entre el costo del zapato y la cantidad asignada por la compañía, la misma debe ser pagada al momento, o de llegar a un acuerdo entre ambas partes la compañía puede pagar y luego deducir la misma al empleado. En la tienda y el camión se aceptan las principales tarjetas de débito y crédito al igual que efectivo. No se aceptan cheques personales.

Las visitas en los camiones requieren un mínimo de 15 pares en área metropolitana y 25 pares en área no metropolitana o un cargo de $75.00 dólares área metropolitana. Los horarios de entrega son de 8:30 a 5:00pm, en caso de necesitar una entrega fuera de este horario, puede coordinarse con anticipación con un cargo fijo de $150.00, con cantidad de pares mínima requeridas según el área geográfica. Los turnos de entrega de camión son hasta 6 horas con un período de almuerzo de 30 minutos para el vendedor. Período de cancelación de hasta 48 horas antes de la cita pautada sin cargo. De no cancelar en este período tendrá un cargo de $100.00. Para entregas en unidad móvil se requiere hacer cita con anticipación para poder coordinar la misma. Los servicios URGENTES conllevan un cargo adicional y estaría sujeto a disponibilidad.

La compañía tendría un término de pago de treinta días (30) luego de terminada la entrega a menos que en el contrato inicial establecido y aceptado por ambas partes medie otro acuerdo. Se le añadirá un 5 % al total de la factura de llegar a un término de pago mayor a 45 días y un 10% si ésta es pagada luego de 60 días de finalizada la entrega. Toda compañía tiene que llenar la hoja de crédito antes de efectuar la compra. Nadie compra un zapato usado.

Mídase los mismos en una superficie limpia. La garantía no es por molestias después de usados.

Elija un calzado adecuado para su trabajo.

Las tenis no son recomendadas para construcción o trabajos fuertes. Las botas pegadas pueden ceder al estirar y despegarse un poco al lado.

Todas las suelas “slip resistant” no son recomendadas para área de cocina.

Si no esta seguro, ni cómodo, debe reconsiderar el modelo antes de efectuar la compra.

Las botas “waterproof” son resistente al agua, pero hay que darles mantenimiento y son resistentes hasta cierto punto de la bota.

Si trabaja con mucha agua tenemos disponibles botas de goma con y sin gabetes.

La garantía es por defectos de manufactura, no por exceso de uso, mal uso, descuido, accidente en el trabajo, desgastes o molestias después de usados.

Si se quita el zapato halando uno con el otro y se despega de atrás NO es garantía.

La garantía puede ser el arreglo o el remplazo de los zapatos a discreción de Tomcas.

Si es diabético debe estar seguro que el calzado no le molesta.

Recomendaciones para la limpieza de calzado

Después de cada uso pase un paño húmedo o una esponja y un detergente suave para sacar el fango y/o el exceso de polvo.

Si está húmedo, desamarre la bota completamente, remueva la plantilla y deje

que se seque. Evitando así la aparición de hongos. Puede utilizar un secador de pelo para agilizar el proceso.

Para mantener la piel suave se aconseja utilizar grasa para zapatos, aceites o

cremas hidratantes que no contengan alcohol, por ejemplo: betún de pasta, “mink oil” o anilina. Así evita la piel reseca y el agrietamiento.

Si desea, existen productos que ayudan a impermeabilizar el calzado y mantener

el mismo.

La limpieza también ayuda a su rendimiento e inspección del mismo en caso que se necesite reemplazo.

No espere hasta el último momento para reemplazar su zapato o bota por uno

nuevo.

Datos importantes a la hora de seleccionar el calzado

Recuerde los zapatos o botas en cuero estiran un poco de ancho no de largo.

El pie, luego de una larga jornada de trabajo, tiende a inflamarse un poco.

Para verificar que el tamaño del zapato seleccionado es el adecuado, deslice su pie hacia adelante y cuando el dedo pulgar del pie toque el metal debe haber un espacio equivalente al dedo índice de su mano en la parte posterior del zapato. Esto es para asegurar que haya espacio suficiente entre los dedos y la puntera.

Un zapato que es ligeramente más grande en los dedos de los pies es mucho mejor que uno

que esté bien apretado. Para asegurarse de que tiene zapatos de seguridad que le queden bien en los dedos de los pies, átelos por completo y camine alrededor, deteniéndose bruscamente un par de veces para asegurarse de que los dedos de los pies no llegan al final de la puntera de seguridad.

Mídase los zapatos con las medias adecuadas.

¿Necesita usted un zapato Electrical Hazard, ESD, Metguard o Puncture Resistant?

Electrical Hazard: los zapatos o botas Electrical Hazard están diseñados para impedir (reducir significativamente) el flujo de electricidad a través del zapato y a tierra, reduciendo de este modo la posibilidad de electrocución. Los zapatos o botas Electrical Hazard tendrán un "EH" claramente visible en la etiqueta ASTM cosida en el interior de los zapatos de seguridad. (ASTM F2413-05 Sec. 7.1.5.2) Sólo los zapatos de seguridad pueden tener la designación EH. Los zapatos EH deben ser capaz de soportar la aplicación de 14.000 voltios a 60 hertz durante un minuto sin flujo de corriente o corriente en exceso de 3.0 miliamperes fugas, bajo condiciones secas. IMPORTANTE: Los zapatos o botas no están diseñados para ser la fuente principal de protección en un entorno de riesgo eléctrico. Están diseñados para ser sólo una fuente secundaria de protección en un ambiente de peligro eléctrico y que está claramente establecido en las normas ASTM para Electrical Hazard Shoes. Static Dissipative: Los zapatos o botas Static Dissipative de seguridad están diseñados para disipar (reducir) la cantidad de electricidad estática acumulada en su cuerpo. A diferencia de los zapatos de seguridad EH, los zapatos SD pueden ser con o sin puntera de seguridad. Los zapatos SD conducen la electricidad estática a través de los forros y plantilla, suela y tierra. Lo zapatos estáticos tienen un "SD" claramente visible en la etiqueta ASTM cosido dentro de los zapatos de seguridad. (ASTM F2413-05 Sec. 7.1.5.3). Metguard Boots: El “metatarso” es una pieza añadida de forma interna o externo que protege los huesos del metatarso del pie. Esta pieza es en un material como metal, aluminio, “fiberglass” o plástico, diseñada para proporcionar una protección adicional a la zona del empeine. Tradicionalmente utilizado en las zonas donde hay un alto riesgo de caída de objetos o rodando en el empeine del pie del trabajador. Las botas Metguard son identificadas con MT en la etiqueta. Puncture Resistant: calzado reduce la posibilidad de que objetos afilados (clavos, vidrio o metal) penetran a través de la suela de causar lesiones en el pie. La protección se realiza por un material resistente a la punción o de acero incrustadas en la suela del calzado. Dispositivos resistentes a la perforación son examinados usando un perno de acero afilada forzado en el dispositivo a una velocidad determinada. La fuerza requerida para perforar el dispositivo se mide. Los dispositivos también se prueban para la flexibilidad y resistencia a la corrosión.

An ANSI safety vest can have one of three classifications: Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. Each of the ANSI safety ratings are designed to help workers choose a proper vest for the job based on their working environment.

Class 1 ANSI Safety Vest

Class one vests are for workers whose job puts them at the lowest risk level. These would be jobs in areas where traffic is traveling at or below 25 mph, and work is taking place at a safe distance from a roadway. An example of this type of work would be sidewalk repair in a small residential neighborhood.

According to the ANSI in order for a vest to qualify as a Class 1 safety vest it must either a safety yellow or safety orange color, and have a minimum of 155 square inches of reflective tape. These reflective strips must go around the middle of the vest as well as over the shoulder. These ANSI safety vests are designed to cover the torso only and do not require sleeves.

Class 2 ANSI Safety Vest A Class 2 vest is intended for working environments that pose a greater risk. This can include workers who are on a roadway where traffic is moving under 50 mph. These vests are larger than their class 1 counterparts because they require more high visibility and reflective areas to be present. A Class 2 vest must have at least 775 inches of safety yellow or safety orange back ground material and 201 square inches of reflective striping. These ANSI safety vests are commonly worn by survey crews, airport baggage handlers, and school crossing guards.

Class 3 ANSI Safety Vest

Class three vests are reserved for people working in the most dangerous environments where visibility is the highest priority. This includes roadways where traffic is traveling in excess of 50mph, but it can also apply to emergency personnel or tow truck operators working in blizzard or hurricane conditions where visibility is at a minimum.

A Class 3 ANSI safety vest is the largest of the ANSI vests because it requires the most background fabric and reflective striping. Because a class 3 vest requires a whopping 1,240 inches of safety yellow or safety orange background and 310 square inches of reflective striping, it often resembles a short sleeve t-shirt more than a traditional vest.

La garantía por defectos de manufactura, no por exceso de uso, mal uso o descuido del empleado. Para cambios por garantía por defectos de manufactura los zapatos tendrán que estar limpios y los mismos se podrán hacer en nuestro almacén. La garantía puede ser el arreglo o reemplazo según sea el caso. Para cambios por tamaños los zapatos deberán estar sin usar. (Ni una hora ni un ratito). Recomendamos que se prueben los mismos en una superficie limpia. Cambios aceptados hasta 30 días calendarios luego de entregados con copia de factura. Pagina 3 de 3 Solicitud de crédito Tomcas La compañía tendrá un término de pago de treinta días (30) luego de terminada la entrega. Se le añadirá un 5 % al total de la factura de llegar a un término de pago mayor a 45 días y un 10% si esta es pagada luego de 60 días de finalizada la entrega. Si la cuenta presenta balance en exceso de 90 días el crédito será cancelado hasta tanto se salden las facturas que estén con dicha fecha de vencimiento.
