Cataloging of Computer Software

AACR defines as electronic resources as material encoded for manipulation by a computerized device. This material may require the use of a peripheral directly connected to a computerized device (e.g. CD-ROM drive) or a connection to a computer network (e.g. Internet). Electronic resources that do no require the use of a computer, (i.e. music compact discs and videodiscs) are not included in this definition.Libraries have not cataloging computer software for long, so cataloging rules are still evolving.
